We heard this on the Memphis news when it happened and were shocked! I was in the 10th grade; we lived in Eastern Arkansas between Forrest City and West Memphis. My heart still goes out to those who perished at the hands of this Ronald Gene person.

Listening to this did make me sick to my stomach. I don't care what psych diagnosis she was diagnosed as having, she knew full well what she was doing and what she had done. The dead giveaway, this wasn't something that happened as a result of them not getting along or a sudden fight the resulted in her snapping, this was something she planned to do, planned for weeks. So I'm not buying that reason of insanity bull.

Not sure anyone can be to blame in this situation. It’s very evident to be ‘something’ was going on with him, perhaps from childhood, in terms of a learning difficulty, but on top of this he has mental health issues which ramped up as soon as he hit puberty (not unusual). MH even back then, was rarely discussed or understood like it is not. His ‘quirks’ would’ve been seen as just that. It’s a sad situation all round, no one’s a winner here.

very perplexing.. hubby was eager to get out due to crime increasing, then the whole family gets murdered with him being mutilated (was there some belief he had done something inappropriate sexually to someone and was killed for this?) i would think they should have pressed the guy who confessed a great deal more to really establish if he did or did not do it. did they collect evidence that could now be tested for DNA? absolutely horrific and more so that the possible culprit is out there, living free somewhere :(

Poor police work cold case needs to be reinvestigated
