My 2011 rav4 has the same problem. There seems to be a common issue with this stereo. Try disconnecting the ground terminal on your battery. Then pump the brake pedal with the key in the on position. That drains all the power out of the system and, reboots it. Then reconnect the ground. It should work but, it's only a temporary fix. The player is probably full of dust. Try compressed air in a can and, DVD head cleaning disk. The audio will walk you through it. If the stereo is over 8 years old sooner or, later it will probably need to be replaced. On mine everything works but I have this problem the on and off knob is wonky it will turn the volume up or down by barley touching it and turning it off and on has turned it up too loud, so I never use the stereo I need some advice everyone, I might just get the stereo replaced but I don't want it too costly, and thought about adding a back up camera aswell.

I had this problem also, mine had a ghost cd on but really there's none. I don't have the load button but when you try to put in a cd the radio just threw it out...🤯 Someone know if there's a reset button🤔? Anyone...

I have the same problem with my 2008 toyota highlander. The cd player will not open to let me put in a cd and my xm doesn't work.

Same problem, but the load button worked! Thanks man, you just saved me hundreds. Which is great because I can now put that into replacing my roof and the ceiling damage caused by the heavy rains! You Rock!

My radio doesnt have a load button...suppose to be auto load....when i try to put it in it hits hardcstops ....wont go in just like this video but diff radio

I just installed a Brand New OEM Radio CD Player in a 09 Equinox, and it’s doing the same thing. Radio works great, but cd won’t go in. Seems like a door inside keeping it from going in. I can’t find any fixes for this problem on the internet. Ughh! Hope you found a answer for this issue.

Same issue here for the past three years,but it fixes itself (who knows how) The problem comes back for some days to go away for some months again. I think it has to do with cold weather, but I'm not sure. Either the CD stays in or Radio unit "thinks" there is a CD loaded. At any case, the factory radio and speakers are budget parts of Toyota's sound systems (as the seats and dashboard materials of any RAV4 ) At least, as a machine, my 2010 RAV4 is very reliable and with a great handling for its class.

My 6Disc-Changer works well-oiled, because, BEFORE inserting a disc, I push the LOAD-Butten, and wait, till I'm prompted.

I have the same issue on my 2010 rav4, did you figure it out? never had the issue on my 2008 corolla that loads 5 cd's.

When you press "Load" and it is displaying "Wait" you have to put the CD right away and it should load it! Whatever this video is from Nov 7th 2014, so hope you figured it out already :)
