Golden hour at Waimea Bay during a huge 20-25 foot swell that hit the north shore of Oahu, the first week of the first big swell of the winter season. Waimea Bay on the north shore of Oahu is slammed by a huge winter swell on Big Wednesday, January 22, 2014. It was the biggest waves to reach Hawaii since the el nino year in 1998. A helicopter pilot flying above the water at Waimea reported seeing waves with 70 ft faces.
