Sam, there's no easy way to say this…HBO was holding back. A LOT. Here’s what happened in the books: Firstly, Blood & Cheese weren't tasked with killing Aemond. Daemon simply told them to kill one prince from the Greens. So they snuck into Alicent’s bedchambers, tied her to the bed, and lay in wait for Helaena to bring her sons to see their grandmother. Once the trap was sprung, Blood & Cheese sadisitcally forced Helaena to chose which son she wanted to die or else they would kill them all. Then, just to be jerks, they killed the one she wanted to spare: her and Aegon’s eldest child, Jahaerys. The two then fled while the Queen was left screaming and her youngest child traumatized for life. HBO robbed us.

the trailer never said EVERYONE is dead. in fact, the German version of the trailer says "Half of your council is dead". plus, Jayce and victors are LOL champions, so I sincerely doubt arcane would kill them off like that when they haven't even become similar enough to their LOL counterparts.

As well as why he didn't take the final shot at the end. I get the sense he wouldn't think twice about killing Rocky or Freckle. But when it comes to Ivy maybe he did get a bit sentimental.
