No, I got it from a 240D that was in a salvage yard. The only imported part of the swap is the European 300D manual driveshaft.

Sometimes they get stuck from corrosion, but if you pry with something flat you should be good. That is my experience

I just replaced the sway bar end link.

Twin cans utilize roller bearings. Adequate oil flow is key at idle.

@@richardsgarage6697yeah and it’s not getting enough oil flow at that low of a idle also your battery will not charge properly with a low idle like that eventually resulting in a premature failed stator

Was the neck of your water pump corroded at all?

from what I understand, e55 is the more reliable one by far. I'm sure you already know that the e63 has a different engine, and apparently it wasn't nearly as reliable as the m113k in the e55. So I would recommend going for the e55, unless reliability isn't a concern for you.

@@MaxCroat it’s too late for me, I have an 07 s65 amg that I’m soooooo deep into selling it would be foolish, it’s beautiful and brutally fast but man has it hurt my wallet

@@DanielBenz81 I don't know much about the reliability of that particular car, since it has a V12 engine rather than either of the two V8 engines in question. Obviously, whichever car you have, your experience with reliability can be very different than the average, either better or worse, so you never really know. But I was just replying to the last part of your comment saying you still want either the e55 or e63. From what I see people on the internet saying, the 5.4l V8 in the e55 should be much more reliable than the 6.2l in the newer e63, while the e63 only had a little bit more horsepower. IMO trading off that reliability for just a bit more power is not worth it, personally I would go for the E55 all day long. The E55 also has a bit more torque, which is why it has the older 5 speed trans, but that 722.6 trans is also supposed to be pretty bulletproof, although I don't know much about the reliability of the newer 7 speed, so it may very well be as reliable. Also, for full disclosure I don't own either of these two cars, although I would like to get the e55 at some point in the future if I could afford it, though that is questionable.

@@MaxCroat yes I’d buy either but if I have my choice I’d take the e55 over the 63, supercharged over turbos, plus if you say the e55 has more torque and the five speed like my s65 that would definitely be my choice of e class, I’d love to get a facelifted e55, I still have an 08 e350 but I’d rather have the suspension and v8, thank you for the info brother, I appreciate it

@@DanielBenz81 Yeah no problem, like I said everything I wrote here is information from various places here on the internet, so there is probably a lot more useful information you could easily find on various forums and similar if/when you will be in the market for this car. As far as the facelift is concerned, I know that there are people putting e63 bumpers onto e55 (or even just "regular" non-sporty versions of the e-class), even headlights I believe, so you can give the e55 the facelift look while also keeping the more reliable supercharged 5.4l engine. If you're willing to pay for that kind of cosmetic work, that is, as I assume these bumpers and other things can get expensive, so there is always the question of whether or not the price is worth it.
