Evrima & MSC Orchestra 20th April 2024
Looking at the window view it would appear that the Aurora is running parallel to the waves. Their stabilizers are working miracles. God help them if their engines should give out for any reason (which happens more than you think). Nevertheless, it is impressive!
RIP Jimmy a truly brilliant live act
The end of a long and glorious service life.

i was on the crusie that arrvied that morning on qm2
fantastic memorey to look back on
What an ugly ship
See the graphics on the trees😊
Nice footage well done 👍
Looks like the ship is just floating there!!
She's.....not very attractive.
AESTHETICS. .🏢.🐫🛒...✍🏿
Both beautiful ships
Queen Anne is my new favourite Cunard Ship and I love Ventura’s horn as well as Queen Anne’s
Ugly. No classic lines, block of flats at sea
Im sorry but it looks like a deadline project
There's nothing remotely attractive about the design.
Super ugly, but that's cruise ships. A floating box.
I don't think she is as ugly as compared to some of her contemporaries.
Built where???
Italy.
Thanks for sharing!
Historic moment in Cunard’s history.
Its getting to a point where these things are really starting to look top heavy!!
She is not pretty from the front… she got a massive forehead!….. maybe Queen Ant (with too many Decs) would have been more fitting 😀
Which one is uglier? The teenage Ventura or the newly hatched duckling? I wish they would still build ships not floating LEGO. But mammon reigns over aesthetics.
Take away the top few decks and she would look a lot better. Great video though.
Yes, looks horrendously top heavy. Look at the list as it turns. Scary!
Looks a bit top heavy
Looks like the QA could have been longer/taller to support the superstructure of the ship
As far as I'm concerned this was the best video so far what fantastic footage and horn action
Solent Ships did a livestream
Which was brilliant but you've certainly won on the horns 📢
Thanks for sharing
I was being born when this was recorded
Funny how qm2 technically battled queen Victoria as she was being built as QV but was changed to the Arcadia, then Cunard built another QV
Would I be ok to use this footage for an upcoming mini doc about the heritage ships of the Solent?
Nice to see Island Princess
Excellent and enjoyable video.
You got the title wrong. It should say Norwegian Escape but you got Norwegian Encore... Oops
Thanks. Late night.
It's quite cool seeing the divina from this point of view. We went on her sistership Fantasia a few weeks ago, but you need to be on another ship to see your own from this high. It's quite elegant. (Congrats on your other video when QM2 breaks lose, I was quite caught in the moment, thinking you were going to hit the Divina, even if I have seen her in good condition since)
Exactly the same thing happened a few years ago when she was moored in Zeebrugge ! We returned from a trip to Bruges to find QM2 with her bow adrift and the gangway fallen in the dock. We were one of about 20 coaches who had to wait a good while for the ship to be tied up again and a rather makeshift replacement gangway arranged. All good fun !!
This is not the Queen Mary 2
I was on the Queen Mary 2 when it happened. It's the view from the ship.
Carnival + Italy = very bad choice.
GO LIBERTY OF THE SEAS!! YOU WON LIBERTY OF THE SEAS won against voyager
How ironic this happened next to the Norwegian "Breakaway". LOLL!! Scary tho.
QE2 was already 36 years old in 2005.
When the captain said ber with us 😅 of course if you don't want to you can always get off.
Very. lucky no people were injured by those ropes failing, they are terribly dangerous with all that tension on them.
Was on cunard queen Mary 2 😅😢
That sound at 4:04 of the line snapping is incredible
Set the sea & anchor detail. Shift colors! Attention passengers and crew, this is the Captain…we are underway…maybe! Carry on!
Fantastic Video. I would have thought that at all times enough ropes would be deployed to secure the ship. The weather in this area can change so quickly. I would have also thought, that, as the ship was in service with passengers on board, the engines should be in a state of readiness to run immediately. The Captain and his crew did an amazing job keeping the ship under control. Glad no one was injured. At the end of the video is a still image showing the bow moored to the jetty in it's new location. I would have expected more ropes to have been deployed?
It takes time to bring everything online. The whirring sound is whenever they start up or run it down so we always knew when we were about to leave or were all fast alongside. With the growing amount of ships using shoreside power, it makes me wonder what would have happened if she'd been attached to that.
I've just returned home from this cruise but was on my way back from a shore excursion to Rome when the incident happened, so it is great to see what actually took place. Our coach was still half an hour from Civitavecchia when the squall hit us, about 10 or 15 minutes after it hit the ship, and the driver had to slow almost to a crawl. When we arrived at the port I first saw three tugs nose first against the ship's side and thought they must be holding her against the quay, but as we turned a corner I saw she was in the middle of the dock. As we all sat waiting at the terminal building where the MSC vessel had been docked, I overheard a disgruntled woman Grills passenger say: "Gee, if it takes them ten minutes only to go this far, how will they get us back to New York?" !
Good to hear what it was like from the other side. Reports don't come close to touching on what happened. It came from nowhere and was cold too. I was on the balcony and got my jacket. Next thing we're moving. Apparently the forecast wind was 20-25kts. My dad said it's a birthday he'll never forget! Glad you made it back safely.
I m travelling in MSC orquestra in 2022 😊
