    Chief gd, What is algorithm to control arrival drafts in MACS in case of changing load line zone ( Departure is summer, arrival is Tropical). During pre stowage planning, We just had to change Load Line zone in menu ? Am i right?

      @@leha08 @leha08 Hi there. The main point is to do not flood the respective mark in a current zone a vessel sails, taking into consideration FWA. To control it, simulate/find arrival drafts in MACS3 same as in this video in addition change zone in program to port of arrival. So if you are over the limit the MACS will rise alarm. It is only my understanding since I have never faced with this on practice so this thing is the subject to check.

    How is a stripping process looks like? Make trim on aft and just deballast tank as usually? Or we need to use some special valves for stripping?

      @@leha08 it is preferable to have a trim on aft, if opposite you just strip less water since bell mouth (suction pipe) located at aft part of the tank. Concerning valves, yes there are special valves to be opened.

    Sir, how to shift cargo from 1 bay to other bay. normally I have to make manually , load to pear and load back 1 by one. is there any other way to do faster?

      On general bay view cntrl+left mouse acquire how much boxes you need, they will be highlited with red, than move on another bay. Also from the pier capture several units and move them to needed bay, captured boxes will be loaded in one row.

      @@singhaman7524 Dear Singhaman, as I know these settings you are not able to edit and they set upon making MACS3 on your specific ship. But can be exceptions, I do not stop be surprised 😅😅😅 some times. The couse that you may have an alarm are results of data counted by MACS3 out of range hydrostatic data in its database.

    Sir, why they decide to made 3days and 0 day mode. instead we can use only 0 day mode. it's also comply with USCG standard/

      Dear Friend. Good question. The point is within 3 day hold time before deballasting still alive organisms persist, and these 3 days remained organisms will die itself in a ballast tank in such environment. 0 day treatment BWTS works on maximum power killing all organisms as per USA regulation. I have not seen anywhere the main reason why set with 2 modes, I think because of the system works on its allowed limit and too big power consumption causing huge load on Aux. Engines.

      Unfortunately focused on MACS3, but do not exclude other softs, I would say at least half might be used for sure since as well work with IMDG codes and general meaning and key points remain the same.

    Question: what about welding near by cargo hold or container is there any obstructions?

      If no DG or any combustible material e.g. fuel tank venthead nearby (usually >30 meters) it is OK, ☝️at sea. In port you should request shore permit for hot works.

    How would you get the GM of a ship in port only by drafts? Assuming that you are under cargo operations and you want to check GM but you don't know how much containers are already loaded discharged. Can you explain?

      GM should not be calculated by drafts. Deck watch keeps updated loading and discharging plans, so if you want to get GM in exact time just update your loading soft with a current load/disch. condition.

      @@Azaad0077 It is difficult to explain just like in comments but I will try. All graphs indicate your current condition and forces affected to particular frame number. Exeeded force will be passing cross. Red - bending, Blue-shear forces. Once cross passed by line the program will rise alarm, meaning force exceeded. It give you understanding on which frame you need to ajust by ballast or by cargo to reduce forces in case of ship stress apeared. Hope was useful 🙂
