Hello, and welcome back to Wander Walker! Now come see me fleeing for my life from swarms of massive hungry bugs in the Canadian Greenbelt as I loose my mind (and my equipment) on the lush forest trails!
A big, huge, THANK YOU to everyone who has subscribed to the channel and made my milestone of 1000 subs in a year happen in 10 months! I'm thrilled the channel has reached so many who find it entertaining enough to stick around - and stick around I hope you do as I have a lot of special content planned. Truly, this journey has been one of fun and discovery and you guys enjoying the output truly make all the hard work worth it. Thank you, SO much. I knew nothing of video filming or editing before deciding to start out last year capturing beautiful places and it's really been a joy to learn and improve over the year.
A quick note that I'll be taking a small break from the channel for a few weeks to focus on my upcoming WEDDING DAY! I am marrying the most beautiful, sweet, charming, hilariously silly, supportive and all-round awesome woman I have ever met in my life and need to devote a lot of time over the next little while to making sure the day goes off perfectly. Wander Walker will return! The good news is, for our honeymoon we're touring Europe and I plan on coming back with a lot of great walks across the pond so stay tuned for that!
Without further ado - this walk was supposed to be a nice hour-long relaxing hike through the beauty of the Canadian Greenbelt south of the Capital of Ottawa. I'd just dropped off the dogs and was excited to showcase the splendor of the countryside as I haven't done a proper nature hike in a while. Of course, I'd failed to realize the morning rain would have incensed the absolutely wild amount of horrible biting insects we have in the wilderness over here - and even with half a can of bug spray I was quickly overwhelmed and driven half mad by the biting on the walk. Instead of calling it quits I decided to film myself fleeing for my sanity through the forest, swatting at bugs, loosing my filming equipment and having to go back, and enjoying for once being in FRONT of the camera rather than behind it. I thought it was time you got to know Wander Walker a little bit more, and hey, if you guys enjoy this kind of content I'm sure I can work some more of it into my regular uploads. :) Please, enjoy this 1000 Sub Thank You Special Video of my hilarious misfortune.
