That was a small but fun place. Lots of good memories. 2 really great coasters. Lost a few flip flops on the sky ride.
no mention of the Stones playing there
make a white swan park one
Also the lighting was changed to around that time from clips of games from around that time.
Thanks for sharing the memories and the film clips of the park. I grew up in the Philadelphia area and we had a similar large regional amusement park called Willow Grove Park. Our park suffered the same fate as Westview Park becoming a regional mall. I finaly did make a trip in the summer to Pittsburgh and got to visit Kenneywood. It is nice that at least Pittsburgh still has a large regional amusement park that features both old and newer rides and is well maintained to keep people coming back. I hope it continues for years to come providing good memories for future generations.

Bobby “The Juggler” Jule believe it or not, turned 100 years old this year (2024).
Greatvideo, thanks🎉
Great Video. I had an uncle that lived just behind the Dipps Coaster. This piece states West View was in competition with Kennywood, yet they were both (partially) owned and operated by Fred Henninger of mostly Kennywood fame. Odd! BTW Henninger family members and the other owners fought for years back and forth over keeping or selling. It appears the majority wanted to ca$h out and so they sold the whole lot of parks. *Bing AI: "Fred Henninger played a significant role in the development of both West View Park and Kennywood Park. He was one of the original organizers of West View Park, which opened in 19061. Henninger, along with his business associate, entered into a lease for the land where West View Park was established. In addition to his work with West View Park, Henninger was also involved in the management of Kennywood Park. In late 1906, he, along with Andrew S. McSwigan and A. F. Meghan, took over the management of Kennywood Park, forming the Pittsburgh Kennywood Park Company, Limited3. This management team was instrumental in introducing new rides and attractions, helping to shape Kennywood into the beloved amusement park it is today." <----- Missing some important details.

My Family went to this Park starting in the 1960's until it closed . We did not have much money and my Mother would get Park Tickets for shopping at a local Thorofare super market in Coraopolis Pa . We would go to the Park on a Saturday for about three hours and went home . We had seven people in our family , So we did not get treats and we did not ride to many rides either . But it sure was a great time to see and hear so much excitement .
1960s grow up in Northside great times there
A truly awesome park
Wow! I heard so much about this place. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to go there. They closed the park back in 1977 when I was 6 years old. My parents were taking me to Kennywood by then. The ending was sooooo sad. 😢
Nice memories Ron. Thanks
From 62 to 68, my local school district had their "Summer Picnic" at West View Park. I still have great memories of those years.
We could use West View Park now!
Wow, what great memories, from Shalers school picnics, to Dance Land on Saturday night...appreciate the upload...Outstanding job! Thank you so much.

Amazing! Thank you for this!
My late sister gave me a soft cover book called "Good bye West View Park Good Bye" y first address was on Mineola Ave just blocks away. I was baptized at St Athanasius Church.
As a kid I always thought it would reopen . Until the dips burned . At that point I knew it was over
Finally!! The whole documentary!!! I've watched a 20 min segment of this numerous times hoping the whole documentary would some day come out. Thank you so much!!!!
Same here!
This video came out in 1991.
