I thought the Taylor sounded thin The high ends were good but it was lacking on the low end and when you're playing in acoustic gig I feel that you're going to want that low end to carry the sound waves a bit farther. By contrast, if there's two guitars, say a 12 and a six the Taylor would be good for plain lead on top of the 12 playing rhythm

I just recently sold my 224 and bought a Yamaha A1M. I don’t know if there was anyone who could hear the Taylor’s sight metallic sound. I couldn’t tell if the two guitars were amplified but I thought the Yammie sounded more full, better mids and a bit more bass. The 224 is very bright but beautiful. For me the deal breaker was the ES2 just not a very good EQ.

I recently bought one of these guitars. It sounds really good but here's the thing. Despite having a fairly wide nut of 45mm the string spacing is very tight. I have a Gretsch acoustic (very similar size to the Baton Rouge but with a nut size of 44mm.) However the string spacing on the Gretsch is over 1mm wider than the B.Rouge. Doesn't sound a lot but the feel is very different.

I am using the same pack as you but your tone is way better than mine, I'm running my rig through a seymour duncan power stage 170 with a mesa boogie 2x12 cab, do you think that could be why? thinking of getting a KSR PA 50 to power my kemper

I have the x54 OM CHB model. It's a lovely, fancy and good sounding little guitar. I chose it for it's small size and 46mm nut widtht because of my bigger hands, and now I can play confortably and enjoy guitar playing. Great job for Baton Rouge.
