@@karlhnedkovsky5214 I reeeally shouldn't say before the final episode, and they've been running gags since stream one, buuut~ The GUN soldiers have unique lines in every stage they show up in. "Agent Rouge is in the premise!" stuff like that. Any stage with Sonic can feature "Blue hedgehog spotted!" And any stage with those grafted red bush-like mines can feature "Don't touch the red fruit!"

Could be a lot of things. The devs are a little abrasive on social media, a few butthurt fans got mad they got kicked from the discord and started a misinformation campain... it could just be plain xenophobia. Whatever the case, I'm just glad they were able to move on from Sonic and start work on their next project.

It's certainly balanced around that, yeah. But I find controller looks better for action stages. Less jerky. And hey, if I can make the game look good _while_ ranking high it's a success in my book!

Ooh! Are we making fun of other folks' opinions on fictional location names without understanding their perspective at all? Cool! "What the hell does the 'Hydrocity' side even have to go off?" Well, for one, that's how it's spelled in-game and in the manual. In the US manual you'd even have gotten the capitalisation right! Which is really weird given that IceCap Zone is listed with the capital C. At least according to the US manual, "Hydrossity" (which I'll be calling that pronunciation from here on out) is in fact the right way to say the stage name. The C in City was not worth capitalising, and you're not doing yourself any favours by spelling it _how it's spelled across everything pre-Generations_ and calling that wrong. Now, it's true that in the european manuals the name HYDROCITY (all caps, it's weird) is translated as if it's a compound word (for example, in french it's called AQUAVILLE, or Watertown). But if manuals are evidence of pronunciation then Hydrossity _is_ a valid reading as much as anything, since IceCap suggests that they would have acknowledged a compound word of unclear grammar with a capital letter. As for what reason someone might have to disagree with you on the name... it's a portmanteau. It's the first water stage in Sonic where you still go fast in the water. Hydro-velocity. Hydrocity. That makes sense to some people more than Hydrocity being a city because, despite some atlantean imagery borrowed from Labyrinth there's nothing all that "city" looking about it. Where are the livable buildings? The commerce districts? It's more like stumbling into a huge sunken structure like the Parthenon. That's not a city, that's a Hydro Monument. Another thing I hear often is that in japan it's called Hi-de-roh-shi-ty, and therefore _must_ be Hydro City!... but that's just not how japanese works. The "ah" in Hydr*o*ssity would translate pretty cleanly as "roh" as well, and the emphasis on syllables in japanese is nowhere near as iambic as in english. In other words, "Hydrossity" and "Hydro City" in japanese are both pronounced the same. If anything, that implies the name is a three-way pun. It's a water city where you go fast. Hydro-velocity-city. Hydrocity. And we're all wrong for insisting on weighing our pronunciation one way or another. But what I really f*ing hate is when someone is so unwilling to investigate the other side of a claim that they'd accidentally make their own side look worse just by speaking up. If how to pronounce a WORD in a thirty year old game is really so important to you, then at least try not to entrench Hydrossity folks further against you by making the Hydro City side look uninformed? Good lesson for life in general, not to insult the other side when you don't even know where they're coming from. Sonic politics, am I right? And, after going through all that I should be clear that I'm camp Hydro City myself. I think Hydrossity sounds stupid and it's a lot to expect from japanese developers to create a portmanteau in another language in 1994. But I'm also of the opinion that what makes fiction beautiful is how it can be interpreted all manner of ways at the same time. There's no "wrong" interpretation if it genuinely resonates with the audience. That's why I call it Hidrockitty Zone. You know, that zone with all the cats? What? You didn't see any cats? That's because they're all hidden under the rocks! Duh!

Unless you go Hero and completely check out of the invasion, of course. Honestly in a vacuum I like the line. Just... insanely dark and dramatic to throw next to "Shadow, destroy that escape pod and kiiill their leaderrrrr!"

@@AustinOnSugar Well yeah, from our perspective! But think about it from the characters' perspectives! Tails doesn't know, what Shadow's gonna do at this point! He's trying to sway him to help, and depending on that, Shadow either chooses to drive the aliens away, or to destroy the pod, severely injuring the president. But at this point it's uncertain, what he'll do. That's what's weighing on Tails' mind. That's what is grim about the aforementioned line!

It'll be an update (officially called "Lunistice 1.5: ACCEL/CODA") that enhances some existing stuff, adds some new characters, and one character (Accel) gets his own campaign. This is the second stage from that campaign, available in a demo dropped late last year.

I can't tell you how much I've played this stage just to gawk as the city comes into view

The ReadMe goes into detail on this. It's a known issue. Solid-state drives load fast enough that this is no longer an problem. For me, I restarted all these stages after they were fully loaded, just to keep the visuals smooth.

The logic behind it is sound on paper. Hero missions subtract your Dark Score from your Hero Score and then add time bonus, and vice versa. But then what happens in a level with only one "side" present (Final Haunt, Lava Shelter)? You'll almost be guaranteed a Mission score of 0, and it all comes down to time. Or, in some cases, there's so many required Other Side kills that you need to die to reset your score at a certain point. It's all a fun enough idea but between clashing interests and rushed development (and poorly-constructed 20-minute missions) it almost can't be helped that we'd end up with such a mess sometimes.

The fun thing about having a resident text bubble editor is I can record my blind LP all at once, and while that's being edited I can sneak in recordings of S-Rank gameplay, make it look like I figured it all out in a day.
