Good job man 👍 Started looking to buy myself a little Gem. Getting harder to find a decent one
@@Itallstartswithadream1 there’s a beautiful panelvan available in South Australia for $12,000
I restored my Rx3 dash the same way years ago, works well 👍
The car is in amazing condition well done
Wow that's nice. In 1981 purchased brand new from Geoff Brady Holden,Glen Waverley, Victoria a Holden Gemini SLX Automatic in Tulip Yellow. I own it for twenty years. The biggest problem was due to the design of the water flow I had my head done over twenty years five times. Also towards the end had the motor completely rebuilt by Dandenong Rebores. It was a magnificent little car. In the end I think I had done close to 500,000 klms and it would have done more. As I mentioned the only issue was the design of the water flow that caused a number of cracked heads. Shock absorbers were never replaced, battery ran for 300,000. Try that on,any of the new cars. My interior was the same as your car. Enjoy your new purchase
was this a conversion on the rear brakes? my te sedan has drums.
Nope, this panelvan has drum brakes same as my TE
👍👍👍
Please sent to me😅
There is a light blue TE, just like my old one. $ 8600 for a brand new diesel one in 1982. Sold her to a kid in Dubbo who drove it around for years. I missed the Gemi so I bought another diesel one, still have it.
I used to own a red TE 1981 (in SA). I hammered it for a lot of the 8 years that I owned it. When I sold it, the engine still went hard. I had the SLvarient, but when I bought it had had a 4 speed fitted to it. With a pair of 4-1 pacemaker extractors as well as an updated Bosch ignition system/distributor to do away with the dated points setup, it went well. Was very easy to hit 155kms in 4th before hitting the limit of the final gear. I always warmed it up before giving it heck. It only ever broke down once in that 8 years; the culprit was the voltage regulator died, a $70 dollar part to replace. I sold the car in the end due to needing to grow up, but I very rarely still miss the car and I sold it 5 years ago. It wasnt the fastest in a straigh line, but it handled fantasticlly through the twisties and sounded AMAZING, especially with no hotdog which was what the pacemaker extractors were firt fitted with. The front windows of houses would reverberate the sound as I drove past under acceleration 😂 in the end I realsied that to keep the polive happy, the hotdog needed to be fitted. Enjoy your project, those engines are tough as nails. They were known as reliable rally cars for a reason!
Just got our puppy standard RED…
Will be good with a cam, exhaust and extractors to match the webers then an afr gauge to track the tune...then explaining to the misso " whoops honey i spent $6k "
Glad i found this, ive been looking at some 13x7 +11 SSR wheels for mine, but after watching this it looks like i can order the 13x7.5 +5 and have some good fitment with a little poke and tyre stretch, nice Gem mate cant wait to see it in person one day. :)
Hey mate, yep I’m running 15x7 P15 front and back! Hopefully see you at one of the Gemini meets in Adelaide
Sick car bro, just picked up a tf for 800 bucks today. What color is that?
My Gemini TE is Atlantis blue! $800 is very cheap
Looking at a similar set up on my 1.6l how much better does the car perform now with the carb install?
Unfortunately life has gotten in the way and I haven’t had a chance to install this yet, once I have this on the car including my Tighe cam and pacemakers extractors I will make a new video
@ryanlooker6783 would be good to see I'll be chucking a crow cam and springs soon so should be a similar set up to yours
nice chevette
Sounds like fahts after Mexican food.
Great video 😊

Is this company still in business ?
what the bike weight sir
Looks fab guys will definitely add this one to the ride list
Are you still using the helmet? Still happy with it?
Not anymore, have upgraded to Poc
Ride impressions?!
Hi Ryan. I was wondering what was the name\link of your AirBNB? Looks good
Hi Gary, it’s called Clare valley cottage in the vines, we found it on air bnb!
@@ryanlooker6783 Thanks Ryan. We are going for long weekend 2/10 - 4/10 so not available but will be taking my bike and renting an electric for the wife! Should be a good ride with a few stops for libations I am sure :-)
Hi Ryan it’s me Aiden please post videos again well that if you can
Who liked my comment thanks
I have also this fake shoes 902 very bad quality also bag and box are bad quality made by China, rc9t are verry good quality, i don't know why people lay🤔
I just got a 2022 model and the stock is extremely limited in Oz. It’s a nice step up from my older Trek.
You've got a MY22 model already ???? So quick. Does that include the new Shimano 8100 groupset ?
@@damo5219 yes, had a tip on early incoming stock in a LBS... stock disappeared quick...helps to make friends with your LBS... it has the same R8000 groupset, not the 8100 which is a higher spec model
@@riffmeisterkl nice one. Mine is due in November. 🤞
I'm hoping to get my tcr advance pro 2 within the next couple of weeks, can't wait!
I got a 58 cm head that the Medium fits perfect on. What I noticed about helmets is some like the AR3 is more of a rounded oval shape like my head shape. Some people have an elongated oval shape head that other helmets are shaped for like: Specialized, Giro, and Bontrager. It all depends on the oval shape of your head and the right helmet for that shape.
Whats the weight of it
I’m yet to weigh the bike to be honest, I just enjoy riding and not worrying about weight
@@ryanlooker6783 how much did u pay for??
@@jbkim2541 I believe it was around $4200 with a bit of discount I got
How much did u pay for?
Cool video dude... Just wonder how much weight does your bike has now that you upgraded to carbon wheel set?
Thanks man! The carbon wheel set are standard SL2 wheels for this model.
great review. love the color. got the same bike a month back in US. Here they just have the gun metal color option. did swap out the crank set as well...
Will these calipers clear 160mm ultegra ones? Annoying that they put the 105 discs on there.
I’ve changed the discs to the XTR ones both 160 and have had no issue, just have to get the back adaptor
@@ryanlooker6783 160 bolted right up with no adapter in the front? I think if so ill probably just grab 140/160
@@poomunj from memory it had 160 on the front and 140 on the rear, so no adaptor for the front needed.
How would you rate it for comfort in long/endurance rides?
The longest ride I’ve done is 140kms on this bike and I found it fine for comfort
Great review! How much does this bike weigh?
I haven’t weighed it yet, I might go back to giant and get it put on the scales
@@ryanlooker6783 thanks! for some reason I can’t find it online
@@bsman6373 this weighs about 7.8kg. if you go to giant global website and choose germany as the country, it will list the weight in there for this bike. I got the same bike in US a month back and it is a dream to ride.
@@sdkarnik Pretty light for a disc brake bike at that price. Much appreciated!
Nice bike, how tall are you for the sizing on the Small , I think I’m in between sizes
Yeah I’m in between sizes as well, I’m around 5”8 I just swapped out the stem to fit
@@ryanlooker6783 ah thanks for reply I’m 5ft 8 myself was thinking the medium might be a stretch , think the small looks better fit and your review too gives good information , I’ll be looking at the S now 👍🏻
i am 173 cm as well. i got the M size. i do have longer inseam at 32.5". yes, the reach was quite high. i switched the stem from 100 to 90. perfect now.
Nice jersey
Nice jersey
this is nice... i was trying to get one for myself, all sold out and gonna wait... till when I don\t know.....
Yeah I had a store tell me 2022! Check out pedal mafia as I believe they still have some sizes left
@@ryanlooker6783 I gave up.. get myself a lake since they are doing sales
How much would you rate the 2021 model out of 10?
It’s probably one of the best bikes I’ve ridden to be honest, that’s comparing to 3-4 road bikes I’ve had in the past, I would say it’s a 9 for me
@@ryanlooker6783 Awesome. I'm looking to get one myself. Thanks for your time!
Nice bike! Any rubbing from the disc brakes at all?
Personally not really, maybe only a few times
@@ryanlooker6783 Thanks for the reply!
Did you swap the stem? Looks longer than a 90mm
Yeah I did, the small frame came with a 90mm and swapped for 110mm
@@ryanlooker6783 can I asked where you got the 110 stem? I can’t find the oem 2021 stem anywhere
@@bobbytechnical7932 I had my local giant store order it for me, it did take a few weeks to come in.
How do you become an ambassador with 25 subscribers?
The pro models are lighter and feel much quicker.
Yeah I believe so, but didn’t have the money to drop 8-10k on a bike unfortunately
Ryan: The only difference between the advanced pro and the advanced is a carbon steerer and marginally lighter wheels. The carbon layup of the frame is the same. Giant wheels aren’t that great and I’d sell them ASAP anyway if I bought this. I think you’ve made a good choice personally buying the Advanced 1!
@@BikeLife154 thanks for the feedback, yeah wheels will most likely get a upgrade down the track 👍🏻
@@BikeLife154 is SLR 1 that bad ?
@@antseeds no experience with them, but seen a lot of negative comments about them online. Also, I don’t want hookless rims and Giant are forcing them on people. So the first change for me would be the wheels!
What is the tool box?
bad ass. Just got mine w the road lense also. Going to order the 24k lense to have fun switching between the two.
I'm new to the La Famiglia and loving it thus far!!! 😎🤙🏽
