Can someone recommend a book to study level 2 inspection snd testing of water based system certification and water based fire protection systems layout level 1 Nicet .. any books and recommendations I really appreciate it
I was a supervisor for 9 years inside an industrial plant that had stringent fire safety measures that I enforced daily. Would this be enough grounds to meet the job experience criteria? I was also on the fire brigade and became FF-101 trained along with my EMT-B cert. It was all volunteer at our plant. I recently became interested in a business that came up for sale in the portable extinguisher inspection side and wondering if having the CFPS cert would be beneficial or overkill. Appreciate you putting this content out. There is not a lot it seems
Oh yeah you got plenty of experience you only need about six years of fire related experience to qualify to take the cfps
I cant find any of this stuff once I am actually logged in. How do I find the content outline for the test I'm taking?
Just an FYI Make sure you always put the jumper in during of after testing of the FM-200 system because you need to dissipate the energy built up in the capacitor otherwise you could accidentally discharge the system.

You mean "were" not "where"
Level 3 certified last year using FireTech prep. Job experience is not enough to prep you for these exams.
I would beg to differ. That is why NICET wants your work history to make sure you've done what you are testing. Just taking prep classes will never replace good hands on experience. But most aren't getting that and result in testing tips to pass the test then in real life can't do all the things they passed on that level 3!!

I am currently a Professional Firefighter looking for part time work and this field seems to be a natural progression to fill in time between shifts. Would my career count towards experience to maybe to level 2 and work from there? or would my only option be to work towards level 1 and wait? I am not trying to rush so much as make myself as marketable as I can to find work for the days in between shifts. Thank you!

The GCA yellow and green leads are provided for connection to a manual actuator if supplied. If a manual actuator is not supplied, terminate the yellow and green leads in the same manner as the red and blue leads. The yellow and green terminals are shunted internally on the ARM and connection to these terminals provides safety for this pair.

NICET has a practice test for level 1, it is on the site.
It doesn't tell you what chapters to study, only what books.

I can help with most NICET. Got Level 3 ITM water, Level 3 Fire alarm, Level 2 ITM Fire and Level 2 Special Hazards. Have done a few NICET exams!
