They want to feel like protectors - Many men have an innate desire to protect and provide. Fulfilling this role gives them a sense of purpose and security.Confidence isn't constant - Men, like everyone, face self-doubt, insecurities, and fears of failure. Reassurance and support from their partners can make a huge difference.
They appreciate direct communication - Men often prefer straightforward communication. Honest conversations without ambiguity make connecting easier.
Respect is key - Feeling respected reinforces men’s self-worth. Whether it’s in trust, admiration, or support, respect is foundational for a strong relationship.
They want to feel like they’re enough - Balancing many roles can be overwhelming. Knowing their efforts are valued helps men feel accepted and appreciated for who they are.
Discover how understanding these deeper needs can enhance relationships and bring partners closer.

    14:19 in my life, the only people that have really stepped in and helped without any ulterior motives or expectations were guys that are the closest to me. I'm currently dealing with a LOT putting my life back together and it feels so painful not being able to be open about the struggle without having people change how they look at you. It's what truly drives my daily fight with those demons that tell me what Phix shared about things being better if I wasn't alive. The hardest part, but what makes it easier to manage is the two little girls that depend on me.

    This isn't shocking at all. He was speeding (20 mph over). He was asked to keep his window. Cops will ALWAYS ask for you to keep your window if you have tint. What happened would have happened to a White guy. This is setting a bad example for Black people everywhere and White people for that matter. He is actually my favorite player, but this wound is self-inflicted.

    No disrespect, but by Sept 14th when you made the video, many of the facts you missed were known. You also failed to include better available video exemplars. Hill was stopped for Reckless Driving, which is an arrestable offense in Florida, but they chose to cite him. By your own admission, Hill was not using good judgment and wasn’t following commands, but then your logic falters and you make it a racial issue. You seem to be more offended that officers dared to put their hands on a black man, rather than Hill’s problem with authority and poor behavior. When someone, regardless of color, is as muscular and belligerent as Hill, you prevent a standup-fight. What you refer to as “snatching” him out of the car, is a controlled takedown that is used to prevent a fight. The more aggressive takedown out of a car is an armbar, and that snatches the person out of the seat and onto the ground; often hyperextending the elbow. They weren't that aggressive. Note that the officer put his hand behind Hill’s neck to keep him from rising up and getting to his feet, if he had tried. At the same time, they guided him to the ground; they didn’t forcefully slam him to the ground. After Hill was cuffed they told him to sit, which is the safest for everyone when a person is cuffed. They can’t run, trip, or fall. Hill still wouldn’t follow commands, so they pushed him to the seated position. Strange that a guy who didn't want to be on TMZ minutes before refused to sit, making him lower profile; instead, he wanted to stand where he was more visible.

    • @TheTruthAboutHim
      @TheTruthAboutHim Місяць тому

      @jmac3349 I truly appreciate your perspective on this moment. It is a moment that required better judgment. Hill acted privileged by, yes, telling the officers how to do their job's and acting very dismissive by rolling his window up. He was 💯 wrong for that. None of that was worth taking him out of his car, that's a fact. Hill is only 5,9 190lbs, while that maybe menacing for some, that is average height and size for a man. Muscular or not. I believe both sides should've exercised better judgments. Officers are held to a higher standard, which is why they have badges and guns. Deescalation was key in that moment.

    • @JohnHenryHoliday
      @JohnHenryHoliday Місяць тому

      @@TheTruthAboutHim How would you have de-escalated with Hill and maintained officer safety? For the record, I think the Cuban officer was trying to gain control using poorly executed Verbal Judo. I’m not fond of the practice because practitioners often immediately rise to the other person's intensity and then try to mitigate. When you have someone like Hill, who insists on being dominant, that technique doesn’t work. As for the removal from the car: Let’s start with Reckless Driving is an arrestable offense, which means if they chose to arrest him, he would be removed from the car and handcuffed. Neither you nor I know when they decided to cite him instead of making a physical arrest. For review, as you pointed out, Hill had dark-tinted windows and should have rolled the window down. I’m not sure you intended to, but you correctly asserted reasoning that falls under the category of Officer Safety. As you noted, the officers’ didn’t know what was in the car (i.e. guns, knives, blunt objects). Based on your own admission, factually we know that Hill was being belligerent and there was no guarantee he was going to leave the window down. So, the wisest thing to do is to separate the belligerent person from any potential weapons and do it in a manner that prevents a fight and serious bodily injury. Let me back that up with facts from the FBI and Officer Down Memorial Foundation. Statistically, officers are 20 times more likely to be physically attacked and injured when they are not proactive. If you would like to dig into that statistic more, you will find out by whom they are attacked most often. Traffic stops rank #4 as the highest risk of single and multiple officers being shot. Here are some commonalities in the shootings: They often involve tinted windows, belligerent subjects, and surprise and ambush-style tactics. Hill has a documented record of violence (Dec 2014 - Jun 2023).

    In 2019 there were 5,691 registered deaths by self deletion in England and Wales, equating to an average of over 15 per day. Taking their own life is the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the country. Isn't that shocking, if it isn't it should be. This, of course doesn't include drugs and alcohol. I'm an old man, well 64 and I can tell you I did consider it in my 40's and 50's. I would take a guess that most, if not all men have at some point. I even worked out how financially stable my family would be if I was no longer there. I decided that no matter how unhappy I was I couldn't do it to my family. It's very, very sad and needs special attention from society IMHO

The sad part is that we as me taught society how to treat us, how to feel for us and how to see us. In order for us to be seen as different we have to start treating our self different. Self love, Self care is vital. Once we choose ourselves and stand for ourselves, everything in our life and how we are seen will change. It starts with us. As a 52 yr old woman, this song hits hard & makes me cry because I'm the youngest of 6 (3 girls & 3 boys). My Daddy worked a full-time construction job & then would work 2 part-time jobs doing carpenter work to provide for all of us. We always had a roof over our heads, food, clothes, God's Word & discipline. I only saw my Daddy cry twice...once when his mother my grandmother died & once when he disciplined me over a bee sting. My mother never worked & they married when she was 16 & he was 21 back in the 50's. He's in his late 80's now with dementia & calls my mom the lady, and he only knows me now by the nickname he gave me when I was born not my given name which is ok. I've been married twice & neither of them measured up to my Daddy, which as the sole provider for my 2nd husband & my 2 kids, this song though hits me hard on a personal level as the bread winner. And for me, at least my 2 kids appreciate me, love me & I cry when I need to. ❤❤

    Most men have a natural cannon-fodder/meat-shield/protect-at-all-costs mentality. I don't know if most women understand that.

    Much respect to the men out there who are trying so hard to do what they can. I hope you find what you need to continue on. Much love from Pennsylvania ❤

    It is by the grace of God that I am still here at 52. Father of 4. I have always been the sole provider in my home. I sought out suicide many times in my early 20's. I have the scars to prove it, but God had a different plan. My wife of 23 years passed away from breast cancer 5 years ago, leaving me to be a single father of 3. (Our oldest had already gotten married and moved out). I remarried 2 months ago, but my goal now is just to see my last child, who is turning 13 next month out and on his own. After that, I feel like my job is done. I think of death as parole.. I know that's not healthy...but it is what it is. This is just what it's like to be a man...for some of us..

      Hey brother! Thank you for sharing your heart. It’s like that for most of us but only some of us will be brave enough to admit it as you did. Stay in it.
