FYP demo
This FYP presents the design, fabrication, instrumentation, and control of an electromagnetic propulsion device in the form of a railgun. The railgun is designed to achieve a muzzle velocity of 100 m/s and a range of 100 m. The device is primarily composed of two parallel rails, a projectile, and a power supply. The projectile is accelerated along the rails via the Lorentz force resulting from the interaction between the magnetic field generated by the rails and the electric current passing through the projectile. The fabrication of the railgun involved the use of high-grade materials, including copper and aluminum, to ensure optimal performance and durability.
To ensure accurate measurement of the railgun's performance, instrumentation was implemented to measure the speed and temperature of the projectile. The speed measurement system involved the use of a high-speed camera and image processing software to track the position of the projectile. The control system included various safety measures to protect against electrical malfunctions and potential hazards.
Overall, this project demonstrates the successful design, fabrication, instrumentation, and control of an electromagnetic railgun capable of achieving the desired muzzle velocity and range.

Need Help. I'm working with a simple 900 mm long straight pipe which will have water flow inside. Also there will be a rotating twisted tape as long as the pipe to increase the heat transfer between the heated pipe wall and water. I've 2 confusions here. 1) I first made the twisted tape inside the pipe geometry. Then filled the full inside portion of pipe by 'fill' tool. Now should I use boolean subtract option to delete the tape domain from the fluid domain or I should leave it as it is after filling the hollow side of the pipe? 2) How to rotate a twisted tape inside a pipe? Is it in the cell zone condition option? Cell Zone Condition -> Frame Motion?
