The wind will push your vanes or feathers to the direction of the wind. This has a huge affect on arrow penitration! Let alone the arrow path through the animal . It side slaps before entering . I'm pleased the animal was recovered. Some game animals get you taking shots you shouldn't. This was to risky...... Bow hunting for over 50 years . Trust me on this advice l mean well . Ridiculous shot to try ! And to put it out there does little for ethical bowhunters . If conditions are windy use this to your advantage . Shoot into the wind . There was plenty of cover for you to stalk closer. Shot placement is everything when bowhunting . If you can't place the shot ,don't take it !
