Ultimate Pistol Assessment: Stealth Arms Platypus
In this episode we take the Stealth Arms Platypus (ua-cam.com/users/StealtharmsNetfeatured) through its paces in the ultimate pistol assessment. The ultimate pistol assessment looks at 9 variables and tries to be as subjective as possible. Certified 100% influencer free I bought the pistol with my own dinero and do these in the hopes of helping to provide additional unbiased information to those who may be seriously looking to include the pistol in their own personal collection.
I do a summary at the 45 min mark if you don't want to sit through all the assessment stages.

My Training Experience with Tactical Cowboy Training
I am sorry, but how may you evaluate a firearm snappiness with a flashlight attached? A flashlight is an additional mass close to the muzzle. Of course, it will “soften” felt recoil.
So what your saying is the issues you are having are opperator error and yet you still mark them down.and why ride your thumb on the safty.
I try be aware that some of my issues and perceptions may be due my mode of operation or handling the firearm that may be different from others, but they are part of my assessment and ranking and thats why I do call them out so others can either count them or discount them. I prefer riding the safety on 1911/2011 as when i draw and depress I use it as a gas pedal so to speak.
The bill drill at 23:00 was tighter than the slow fire groups 😂😂 excellent video brother
Thanks man. Definitely not the best shooter but I try.
Man great video Amigo, how easy was it to add the red dot? is it direct mount or are there bases like the Staccatos?
Add direct to the firearm. Its one of the best attachments Ive seen.
Sick Ak brother. Is that a meridian defense?
Yes thats a Pestilence. Im sure a Romaian koit can be had for cheaper buit i lack the skill to build. So far loving it.
Where’s the shirt from??
doworkdolife.com/
The slide release lightens up just after 30 rounds? Seriously?!!
Not sure of the round count but a noticeable difference. I'm upwards of about 200 rds now and its much better although still tight when compared to others.
You’ve got to red bottom magazines. Did they send you this gun for free to review?
It comes on all of them it’s a stocker I held one a few weeks ago at my shop
Yeah I don't know where this started but mine had them when I bought it
@AZCactusTac some other youtuber thats ignorant started that rumor.
It looks a lot like a Taurus G3C.
That seems to be the general consensus, but its no Taurus in my opinion.
Thanks for your review!
Love the Scar amigo mine is super accurate.
In my case the shooter is not so accurate ha ha
Beautiful Ak! I don't about folks wanting to watch someone cutting a box open thought...😢
Thanks for the feed back and I agree.
Too bad this HK was designed and manufactured in the US. Who wants a HK that’s not German?
Me. I’d prefer German but it’s still an HK made to HKs German standards. What’s the problem other than feeling quirky with a German made gun?
The American HK45 is actually better than the German one
I got one.
Try the Hellcat key for the TLR-7 sub. It apparently works. Streamlight is working on a CC9 key already.
Thanks for the tip! Will do
Moral of this story - gun is fine and tested to ridiculous standards- gun shoots better than the shooter is capable of shooting
Wouldn't argue with that
@@AZCactusTac would be true if I was shooting it as well 😂
If they come out with a larger version in the size range of 365 XL, 365 X-Macro or Hellcat Pro, I'd be interested. Already set in the micro department with a Hellcat, 365, and Shield plus.
Solid choice no doubt.
It's a fcu pistol. Hk has said that there's more modules coming soon!
I just got home with mine. People who haven't handled this gun need to stop with the insults. This gun feels like a very well-made gun.
Agree. If you are in the market you need to add it to your list.
How would you compare the recoil to shield plus ? Because the hell cats was trauma lol dislike the hellcat when I rented it
I think it’s very similar to the Hellcat Too be honest with you. Recoil seems to be very subjective, depending on the person.
@@mike34744yea I’m sticking with my shield plus I ran it an ran it an not snappy at all also my store just got 3 in an they was changing the back strap an it was off on the fitment an soon as I tried it in my holder that’s soft it rubbed the cerakote off nose of the slide an I liked the feel of the shield plus in hand better
@@HoodstapizzoThe HK CC9 has a DLC slide finish not a cerakote finish.
@@HoodstapizzoBackstrap totment on all the CC9 I looked at were perfect.
@@HoodstapizzoI wouldn’t carry a Shield Plus. I had one and the firing pin spring broke at 306 rounds and jammed the firing pin in the slide. I had an instant paper weight. Good thing I didn’t have to use it to defend my life! And the Shield Plus has a cheap cerakote finish on the plastic frame.
I don't need another micro 9 but I find myself wanting it. The VP9SK is a bit oversprung too but it works great, I can imagine the CC9 shoots great with that heavier spring. Disclaimer: I'm only 2 minutes in when watching this video, but, I have heard others have had success with the Hellcat version of the TLR-7 Sub, I see you have the 1913s version (that's what I have as well). I'm really curious to see how the light does in your video because I'd like to slap one on if I end up getting the CC9 also.
I just bought one. It's basically a thin VP9SK. I like it.
@@puma51921 I like the VP9SK, have mine configured with all the small side panels/backstrap. You made me want the CC9 even more.
Yes someone else commented the same thing. I'll have to check that out.
The Micro Compact market is saturated with great choices, back in the day all you could get was the chonky Glock 26. Great video sounds like HK has a banger in their hands. Saludos from Htown!
Right on and fully agree
Nobody puts Fat Baby™️ in a corner!
90% is fantastic? 😂
How dare you wear that shirt showing this abomination
Okay well I do like the video but no shade to you people need to stop talking about this whole trigger pull stuff because if you're actually in a firefight if you actually have to use your pistol I don't think the first thing you're going to worry about is how heavy the trigger pull is
Fair point
Having a lighter trigger over a heavier one is definitely a game changer. You sound dumb. And it makes a difference 100 in where that bullet will go when having a 10 pound trigger over a 5.5 or lower one. If I get into a defensive engagement, shot placement is everything and that 1st round that comes out that barrel is the most important, and then every other round after that, at the end of the day. Period. I don’t know know too many people are are getting excellent shot groupings from 10 pound+ trigger pulls. Just stop. You sound dumb dude.
I’ll stick with the P365X.
No need to change if you have that.
The Taurus comments are just from haters or people who are pissed that they dont get a SFP9cc. I think it doesnt even look like a Taurus. If I make any look comparison I feel more reminded on a SAR9 SC gen 2.
Bro
Bata fak
Functionality aside, looks like a mix of a Taurus G3C and a Kimber Mako. I'm sure it will outperform both.
I’m definitely getting one
Cleaning the comp end is a pain. Works well.
It’s your ammunition bud not the gun
02:42 if you don’t want to hear about box.
Good info thanks.
You bet
Actually we have built the HK 45 and it's variants, and the MR556 and its variants. In Columbus, Ga.
It was assembled in Columbus but most of the parts came from Germany
@@CHAOSTACTICAL yep but we also were doing our own barrels and cold hammer forging, but yeah the parts did come from Germany.
Looks great. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for watching!
Hey great review amigo I started with the Springfield Hellcat and I went to the sig p365. Can't wait to see the shooting footage.
Try to get some time with it this weekend
Great interview amigo!
Glad you enjoyed it!
How much did you get those mags for and are they Russian made?
Yes all Russian and I cant recall the exact price but I know they were not cheap.
The preparation paid off you were hitting everything last weekend, great Job amigo!
Thank you Rodrigo. Great meeting and shooting with you guys.
The FN 502 comes with 3 other different pairs of screws of different lengths included. None of those were the right length or did you not even try to use them?
Or.... Just grind off about 1mm from the screws you have. Can't believe you would mount an optic that way.
Yeah I tried all of them and none worked. I just wanted to get something up and running but agree I need to go back and trim some off to make it work.
@@AZCactusTac Thanks Good to know. I have a friend with this pistol and I suggested he order the same sight so I appreciate your review and feedback on the screws.
Beautiful pistol work of art
That's a really good looking rifle, are you shooting it for Cold War?
Now I understand why comments are often turned off. Fanboys are equivalent to trolls. People either aren't actually watching the video or have comprehension issues. Despite the below mentions, they still claim it's the user. - malfunction happened with other magazines. - appears to be checking that the magazine is well seated, as he states it in the video. - malfunction happened with other ammo. - optic screws appear to be marked. Now the left screws markings might not be lined up perfectly but not sure. - 500 rounds in and pin loosening.
@@BlackSuperman643 I thought Glock fanboys was sickening hell naw I was wrong it’s them sig mfs smh
Can you say exactly where it needs to line up. The slide catch is wide
How is it holding so far after some rounds through your gun? My tlr7 sub has snapped now twice on me. I had stream light repair it for me the first time but now I’m just considering buying a brand new light and buying this screw that you have shown. Thanks for the info!
So far so good. I've now installed on three pistols and so far no issues. I have put abotu 2-300rds through each pistol and no issues so far.
Man I love that FDE look, and really like the AEMS red dot.
Man I love that FDE combo, great optic choice!
Nice man, I've been on the fence about getting a shadow, think I want the fullsize one. I think I want the one with the orange grips.
You should!
Subscribed brother, man I really like all that trench art. Are you shooting this at Cold War?
My sig sauer p365 x Marco my trl 7 sub will not stay in place after recoil
Try the stronger screw. So far its held steady for me.
