Of course you can compare it. It will be much much worse at Richmond and Island Park and this one is bad.
예,감사합니다,찾주셔감사합니다❤❤❤❤❤🍵🙏

Confusing title
Yes, I had 30 seconds to fritter away!
The proposal has some merit, but needs more pronounced set-backs along Richmond and Churchill to maintain the human-scale traditional main-street feel.
Thanks. Can you email that to me? I've been comparing this proposal to the Taggart building at Rosemount/Wellington. How do you feel it compares, and how do you like that?
Two story does not equal nine story building!
Why do we need more intensification?
IMHO, Jacqueline, because it's good for the environment. Less farmland devoted to urban sprawl.
Hi What was the wire called What goes onto indicators the remote control The wire was hanging down your handlebars Let me know thanks For Mr Jackson.
I love Nu. It's a little too pricey for me, but it's a great concept and lovely staff.
Like a lot of niche markets, the prices will fall as they become more mainstream. Not everyone will be able to switch their groceries over entirely, but as those who can buy more and more, hopefully shopping here or at other stores that offer the same will become more affordable and accessible!
Who approved the dismount-and-walk bicycle feature at 3:03 given the amount of cycling traffic on that route? Who would expect people to follow it? Whenever I have used that route, I typically turn left from SB Trillium MUP onto EB Carling, then right onto SB Preston, then left onto EB Queen Elizabeth and re-enter the MUP after the intersection solely to avoid the walk-your-bicycle section. I also found the east end of the Flora bridge confusing and poorly connected to the cycle tracks on Clegg; the west end is connected properly. It is good to see that the crossing at 7:17 has been modified with the cross-ride.
Heh, the short answer is: no one. No one obeys those. I didn't see one at this location, but have no doubt that one is there. The City puts them up wherever a MUP intersects with a sidewalk and intersection, unless there's a cross-ride. Under the HTA, a bike is a vehicle and vehicles aren't allowed to use pedestrian crosswalks. I know I begged the City not to put these up on the Scott/Albert MUP, but, rules is rules.
Cool vantage point for watching the train testing. Odd that the trains sometimes ran on the wrong track (going east on the west bound track and west on east bound track) and some appeared to be going back and forth between Bayview and Tunney's pasture (assumption on my part as you can't see Tunney's station, I assume though that they are going that far). Thanks for sharing the video!
But I wouldn't want to see video replace the print newsletter - I find the print version quick to skim. Have you considered simply a series of short video clips to supplement the print.
I've done a few if you scroll back through my timeline, but my emphasis is always on the email newsletter and blog. Social media and video are a great way to alert people to issues, but the really big awareness only comes with putting substantive content on a web page, then driving traffic to it with a newsletter. As some folks have noted, video also has an accessibility advantage for many. Just one more tool!
I like the use of video for anything related to properties (such as planning) that it's useful to see. Good for you!
Lol @ 26:30 -27:30, thats a long-ass time to wait considering almost no car traffic
Ah yes. That light is the bane of cyclists' travels. I'm making an effort these days to adhere as strictly to the rules of traffic as the anti-bike crowd would like cyclists to adhere. I cannot say I blame that large number of cyclists who every day blow through that red. Visibility is great for a few hundred metres each way. "Idaho stops" can't come soon enough.
You cannot compare traffic on Carling Avenue to traffic on Richmond road (apples and oranges) This is a ridiculous comparison.
But you can observe the impact of a drive thru. This is hardly unique in Ottawa. And while darling is wide and under capacity, Richmond is narrow and congested. A drive thru would be even worse there
+spotmaticfanatic I don't disagree that there is a pedestrian issue in this video but it's certainly not because of a coffee shop "drive-thru" impact. It seems to be the nature of drivers to basically cut off pedestrians. Our Councillor should take a walk around the neighborhood to see that this happens everywhere. It happens at parking garages, drivers pull over the sidewalk waiting to enter when there is a back-up. It happens in our schools during parent drop-off and pick-up. It happens at gas stations, especially when the one at Parkdale is posting low prices. It happens on turn signals, drivers cutting off pedestrians to make a light. It happens at our well loved local hamburger joint and donut shop, because they both have minimal parking and drivers wait for a spot. I am a driver and a pedestrian... I see it from both angles but can't support being blind to the fact that poor drivers make poor decisions. Do we close all our favorite local gas stations, hamburger joints, donut shops because a car might block a pedestrian on the side walk. I feel there has got to be another reason he and his crew are so forcibly against a low cost, drive-thru coffee shop in the neighbourhood. Has our neighbourhood started catering to the top tier families so long that they have forgotten who's blood sweat and tears went into making this neighbourhood so wonderful. Let one coffee shop in that doesn't serve 7.00 latte's.
+CC's Mum I don't think anyone, including the Councillor, would disagree. These are all issues about bad urban design, and putting the car first.
Your comment is ridiculous. It's the same kind of development hence it is apples to apples
This is in the UA-cam category of "Entertainment". I'm among the 0.00002% of the population that agrees with that.
Awesome! Count us in next year!
Great video guys on the history of Westboro and Wellington Village. I learned a few new things from Andrew, as usual.
