Connecting Business initiative (CBi) strengthens business engagement in disaster risk reduction (DRR), emergency preparedness, response and recovery.
Operational and technical support to CBi is provided by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

Innovation in Disaster Management Report Launch Event
The Innovation in Disaster Management Report launch event showcases emerging frontier technologies and their practical application for disaster risk reduction, resilience building, and policy making.
This webinar features speakers from the United Nations Development Programme Istanbul International Centre for Private Sector in Development (ICPSD) SDG AI Lab, the Vanuatu Business Resilience Council, and the Connecting Business initiative.
Topics covered include public-private partnership, challenges around access to and implementation of new technologies with a particular focus on vulnerable populations and digital literacy, and a blockchain cash transfer programme to enable economic recovery after a disaster in Vanuatu.

Une belle initiative ! Notre association a eu le soutien en 2015 de la compagnie Holcim-Lafarge Madagascar pour la construction de la ferme de spiruline Fanantenana que nous avons réalisée près d'Antsirabe. Avec cette plateforme, et son rôle dans les situations d'urgence, c'est l'espérance d'une mobilisation efficace de moyens particulièrement dans les situations de crise. Souhaitons que le passage du cyclone Enawo soit une occasion dès maintenant d'en démontrer l'efficacité dans une rapide mise en oeuvre qui parvienne bien sur le terrain à ceux qui en ont besoin.
