Percy Whitlock - Fantasie Chorale No. 1 in D Flat Major
Isaac Drewes performs Percy Whitlock's "Fantasie Chorale No. 1 in D Flat Major," live in-concert.
Methuen Memorial Music Hall

The Methuen organ, originally built by German organ builder E. F. Walcker, was substantially rebuilt by the Aeolian-Skinner company. This performance features some unique tone colors:
-At 4.20, the very keen Great strings 16-8-4. This sound was typical of Walcker's organs.
-At 4.29, the Pedal 16' Basson, a free-reed which is softer than a typical 16' pedal reed.
-At 4.44, the Pedal 32' Contre Bombarde, another free reed. It's quite unusual, in modern organs, for a 32' reed to work at a comparatively quieter dynamic level, as is the case here.
-At 7.42, the Choir 4' Regal, played at 8' pitch. This is the only free reed on the manuals still extant.

Isaac, my brother in Christ, as a fellow organist, I prefer to learn our Father’s praises on my Hammond H-140 home organ so that I may one day transfer my talent onto a bigger and more powerful organ, such as the electric organ at my local United Methodist Church.
Just outstanding!!! Wonderful tempo and the interlude was just amazing! Well done!
6th and final verse begins at 5:08
This is really nice! Thanks for sharing! How did you arrange stanza 2?
Nice alternate harmonization!
Wonderful
One of my very favorite hymns, played beautifully! Thank you and God bless!
How did they manage to kill the acoustics in that big church? America, America .......

Very well played and loved the interludes!!!!
Well done, Isaac. Playing from memory seems almost impossible to me. You made it look easy!
Superb!
The registration was perfect. That performance was a balm to any hurt.
Stately tempo, not rushed to impress those thrilled by speed...perfect organ legato for hymn-playing, interesting registrations, precisely played. Hope to hear more.
Sounding great, mister!
Wonderful playing of this difficult work. You make it look effortless!
