I had a brief meeting with Howard where he gave me the cold shoulder. Despite that, I’m over it and don’t hold any grudges as we all have bad days. I still love his music and think he’s a wonderful person.

It’s good to see Murray Perahia and looking so well. I have all his recordings and have had the privilege of seeing him live several times in U.K. He is a truly outstanding pianist and I cherish so many if his recordings. His interpretations are always so intelligent, sensitive and deeply musical. Steinway and Perahia, what a sublime partnership.

"Pianist like no other" can mean nothing or everything. It certainly doesn't mean the "best" of all living and dead. For example, Levit doesn't performance in a suit. This alone already makes him a pianist like no other.
