Taken on 4/13/13, Pan Ams two FP7s cross the river with a High Iron Travel excursion in Schagticoke, NY just a few miles from its final destination in Mechanicville. Big thanks to my friend for manning the video camera and capturing the scenes of all the foam (and yelling at them too).

My first time videoing with my new camera, so bear with me. Saw this train in Hicksville heading west about 15 minutes after the RS81 cleared, had more than enough time to beat them to Mineola. Power was the 164

second time, to my knowledge, that they've run this unit on the 40 job down the Central Branch. first saw it westbound through Mineola a month or two ago, this is the first time I was able to catch it switching. the unit is seen here moving cars in and out of One World in Lindenhurst, bracketed by the 159 and 268.

This train experienced a brake fire before cancelling in Mineola. To clear the main line, the set was sent up the Oyster Bay Branch to wait out the rest of the evening trains. Around 11:30, the train moved back west on mainline 2 under its own power. Video shows the train turning onto and off of the branch. Apologies for the bad camera work, the conditions weren't the greatest.
Diesels On The Long Beach Branch

with the substations knocked out by Hurricane Sandy, the LIRR has provided minimal diesel service on the devastated branch. first clip is 406 leaving Island Park appoaching the Wreck Lead bridge, second is the same coasting down the grade from Lynbrook into the Centre Ave station.

went for a bit of an extended video today, might as well cover how freight on the Central Branch works. we start off at Wellwood Siding, where the crew has just spotted two boxcars for Inter County Bakers. videoing begins after LIRR train 2706 has cleared, the freight pulls out of the siding, and then makes a reverse move to pick up the brakeman before heading further east to One World Recyclin...
