Pitts Model 12 Teaser

One of the meanest machines general aviation has ever produced - the Pitts Model 12. At nearly 2,000lbs of thrust and 450 horsepower, the power:weight ratio reaches unity. It's enough pull to fly away from the top of a hammerhead in the knife-edge. It just makes you smile. :) We hold the only FAA approved training program in a professional flight school capacity in the world - where you learn h...

Ratcher Roll
Oh, I knew those fields and landmarks looked familiar! I come up to Rochelle and Morris every year to fly the corn and I occasionally see some guys doing aerobatics in that area while I'm working. Always thought it was just Oshkosh traffic because it gets pretty crazy out there with the transients. I'll keep my eyes out for your guys!
Great video!
Jelly.
Aerobatics is the most fun you can have with your pants on
As a kid flying RC planes, I had 2 favorite planes, the Extra 330 and the Russian Sukhoi and the real thing is so much cooler than I ever imagined. I love how calmly you perform these maneuvers, and I would LOVE TO TRY IT myself, but I was about motion sick watching you do it, lol. Way too freaking cool, thanks!!!
Do you do training in a Gamebird? I have one.
Yessir, all the time! We travel out of state for just a day rate+expenses. Shoot me an email at jared@flygambit.com! 🙂
@@gambitaviation I’m impressed with your training videos. Thanks!
Fantastic video.......!!
super nice video and explanations!!!!
Your website shows you teach in a yak-52 as well, is the Yak capable of these same 3 maneuvers: tumbles, lomcovaks and the knife edge spins to be taught via dual instruction?
LOMCEVAK
First clear video covering all these maneuvers together, fantastic flying
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing! Can' wait to learn this myself!! What headset type/brand is he wearing?
It’s a Clarity Aloft!
Great video! Would love to see more!
Outstanding 🦅👌
Nice 👍
Great video! How about an Extra 300 landings video??
Excellent demonstration of these maneuvers. Great commentary as well. You got this brother!!
What headset do you wear that can handle those negative G's without falling off?
hi, I play aerobat in ms flight sim. Thank you for showing the different lomcovaks, I have been wondering which version is the proper one. I have a couple questions: Is an over-aileron [overspin] lomcovak still called a lomcovak, or is it a different name? One of my favorite... [edit got the trick completely wrong ... ignore]? Finally: Is there a complete list of tumbles somewhere on the internet? There is so much more to tumbles than a standard lomcovak, and it's slow figuring it all out on my own. Thanks for your time and videos
needless to say, i don't know what to properly call any tumble and would appreciate any help
Awesome video. 2:27 got Nigel sounding like Rick while inverted
Excellent, always enjoy the laughs and banter! 👍
It was a little hard for me tell from the video. Was the outside loop started from level inverted flight and pushed up over the top and back to level inverted?
Yep - exactly! Little off heading, but he’s doing great! 😊
How can I get a session!
Awesome video Jared!
this is awesome, you're so casual about everything and that makes it more impressive.
I presume theres an equivalent inverted version with full back stick?
Absolutely! Gyroscopic precession enables an “inside tumble/lomcovak” done with aft stick and right rudder.
Awesome video Jared! Interestingly enough I was taught lomcevaks using right rudder and left aileron fwd stick. Not sure why everyone teaches differently. Would be awesome to see a video on different tumbles, maybe some with different combinations of control inputs and an explanation on how it changes the dynamics. I have a midwing E300 and at some point want to learn how to do it in my plane.
Tumbles and lomcevaks in airplanes that don’t have a backwards-turning engine (M14P’s) require left roll, left rudder, and forward stick to create as much gyroscopic precession as possible that creates a force that that tucks the nose down and to the left. Right rudder and pushing is negating gyroscopic precession and it would commonly be referred to as a “shoulder roll” and not a true tumble/lomcevak. We cover all of this in person - and there’s a lot of detail left out of this video. 🙃 We’re happy to come to you and fly with you in your airplane, too!
Awesome video. The Extra, with all its power and well harmonized controls, makes those maneuvers look deceptively easy.
Aileron, rudder and elevator have larger surface areas which react at a faster rate plus the angles of all 3 are also increased in aerobatic aircraft. I started out with decathlon and to a pitts special then extra and it was like power steering in the latter. Real aircraft 👍
@@ngaoutdoors4157 I fly RC aerobatics, had a decathlon and extra, now flying an edge 540 and it does everything you want to do with the most ease.
Hi there! Saw you at the Fremont Flyin Breakfast a couple of years ago. I'm the EAA member that puts on the RC demo. I have two RC Extra 300s and a Gamebird. Maybe we could do a fun collaboration, RC vs "Real" full scale. 🙂👍🛩
great stuff
and it all looks so simple 🙃
The fuck is that crappy music? You ruined the video.
I love your fleet of aircraft for rental...I so wish I lived closer! (I'm in Northern Virginia)
My first WW2 warbird i seen up close when I was a kid putting my fingers in the holes on the wings where the 50 caliber guns where , never will forget it .
The music completely ruined this video for me.
I would say that calm narration during unlimited aerobatics is AMAZING.
What is two fingers?
Those Extra 330s are so much fun!
This was a great video! Let’s see more
making those "smoke" calls like you are the US Navy Demonstration Team 🙂
Cool
Great vid! nice narration. maybe some control position cams too... very cool!
Very cool. Greets from Germany
WOW
I think I just puked!
Excellent. Would love to see more aerobatic videos.
Not sure why aft stick in an inverted spin gives acceleration and not recovery...
Very cool! Subscribed. Looking forward to more. I'd say keep em level, but not on this channel! Lol
This was just awesome to watch! 👌🏻 Amazing tutorial! For the next one it would be nice if you could film also your feet.
