Why can they just simple make a roof that extends when a ship is ready to deploy and complete pulls back when loading on a trailer, creating a capsule effect, so when you transport it you don't need to worry about water and dust. All roofs fixed..and you need extra protection to cover it, not a practical thing. In my opinion it would protect against thieves, bad weather, animals... and would be more easy to transport.
