Lynch wrote this instrumental song for his daughter, it came from his solo album “Sacred Groove” back in the 90’s. One very moving song imo long live Mr Scary
He has such an odd right hand technique. But it fucking works for him, and has created some of my favorite licks of all time. That arpeggio line is top tier.
This is weird, I have read many interviews of Dokken members, journalists in the past that said George Lynch's guitar playing really suffered during his bodybuilding days. He sounds phenomenal on this show. Supposedly his hands changed as well causing him to be slower and not as agile as before. Maybe it is other shows because this one George is still ripping it.
@@scottydog62 by elementary do you mean simple or easy to play? Because although that may be the case, George's rythm work can still be very good regardless. Listen to the riffs in songs like mr scary, the hunter, turn on the action(featuring an actually hard to emulate van halen type swing feel).
@@theYuGiOhseasonzeroguy I think your reply should be more towards Ray's comment, I agree with you, his rhythm work is absolutely incomparable Like his sliding chord and single note or double stop vibratos, very few people can pull that off without ripping up their fingers😆 I was kind of agreeing with Ray on George's compositions and being in a simple form "elementary" in his words, but George puts a spin to it that makes it very interesting , I was being diplomatic with Ray. But when you think about it hard rock - metal is simple in a sense, if it starts getting complicated it would be called prog-rock right? George Lynch is one of my favorite guitarists , he is "incomparable" in a good way
@@scottydog62 I see. I agree with you. George is also my favorite guitar player(along with warren demartini), so I tend to get a little defensive sometimes about him. Haha. Cheers man.
@@theYuGiOhseasonzeroguy And I meant Brad not Ray in the comment, I would like to see Brad compose some masterpiece like "I will remember" I bet you he can't come close, I get a kick out of people criticizing great Musicians And same back to you, Cheers, have a great day see you on future UA-cam comments
To create such masterpieces like this time and time again is what the real talent is!! George has so much soul and feeling in his soloing just gives me chills!
I have always been amazed at what Furious George has been able 2 create throughout his awesome career, just another reason why he has given me so much to look forward too musically. Thank you for all the year's.
I'm 50 now but he inspired me to play back in 85.Before i saw him in 86 open for Priest on the Turbo Lover tour.Glen is also a hero of mine. Finally met George in 07' in Charlotte, N.C. and played Mom on.his tour bus.Still my hero.

The genius is not be able to play like that and then say "I can do that" The genius is in creating that type of music with that complexity. The guy is simply amazing.
This was back when George was at the top of his game technically. And before he started that unusual technique of bringing his thumb away from the back of the neck. It may feel 'right' to him, but he's not playing crisp these days.
I'm referring to why Don would be jealous! Come on, dude. Try to keep up. Don is a mediocre guitar player, hence why he stuck to just singing on most Dokken songs. Are you following the convo now? THAT'S why Don would be jealous of George.
Don stuck to just singing because Lynch didn't want a second guitarist in the band and there is footage of Don playing leads like a champ in 1982 and there are recordings of him playing leads. He was pretty damn good.
@@BPoweredLove I'm not saying he's as good but he could hold his own. He also wrote a lot of the riffs that ended up on the albums. He was a solid guitar player. Lynch was phenomenal. What's true however is that Lynch wanted to be the only guitarist in band, Don in fact wanted to sing and play guitar like he did originally on Breaking the chains.
@@BPoweredLove And what's more Don always praised Lynch's talents in interviews even after the split. George however wasn't so kind about Don's talents
@@lrn_news9171 I don't understand the point you're making. Of course Don, like everyone who knows music, praises George as he is a virtuoso of sorts. Don is not. Sammy would say the same about Ed, but Sammy rarely played guitar as a virtuoso doesn't need help.
Are you serious? Because George is approximately 476,908,310 times better than Don. Do you realize that Lynch is a guitar god? How the hell do you not know this???
❤
Im curious at 2:30 What causes George to lift his right knee up high during the intense soloing part.
Absolutely killer!!! INSPIRATION 🔥🔥🔥
💯🤘Excellento🎉 can't get enough of this track

Maravilloso 😍
i think wrong song to do live.
Awesome shit tone. He’s all about tone. And this is the bottom of the barrel. He still shreds and is a god
Amazing ❤
Last concert I went to..they nailed it... just like this
Probably wasn't filmed at Mississippi Nights
Most emotional solo ever.🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
this man mastered turning a mistake into just crazy licks ... just how his mind works and i will forever love it.... 🤘 basically a mode masterclass.

The guitar playing is fabulous here! Nice to see Don playing for a change.
My mom's wake today and funeral tommorow this song will help me remember thanks george
Uno dei miei idoli di gioventù.....virtuoso della vecchia scuola.....

Doesnt make any sense. Why be less agile. Its not the nfl. Maybe it was in his mind.
I know right! Listen/watch the whole DVD,he is on fire the whole show insane tone as well as playing
Perhaps you haven't seen how agile he was between 1988-1993
Also George Isn't nearly as big as he would become in 1996-1998 around these years
My favorite song from mista scary
Absolutely Epic. Both the composition and the performance. Unreal.
Camera conveniently pans to the right just as George begins the most awesome arpeggio run of the song.
I get prefect goose bumps when I hear this song. Love it.
I wish Michael Sweet & George Lynch would do this song together with Michael on Vocals.
The best melodic solo guitarist of all time. Although Much of his rythm work was elementary.
Maybe his rhythm compositions might be a little elementary but his chord slide slurs vibratos are unmatched

Very well said and expressed!!! Always tried to explain that to many.

georhe lynch and especially this live performance is a serious reason to sell all my equipment and quit playing guitar.
