    After the glaze has cured……can you put a transfer on without sealing it with a topcoat ?

    Can you supply the link to the Farmhouse paint you used. I can't seem to find it online. Is it part of the Dixie Belle products as I do not find it on their site.

    Is it wrong to ask if you are originally from the south because your accent sounds like mine, not Massachusetts!

    Thank you! You are the ONLY person to answer my questions after over an hour of researching LOL. I do have 1 more question. If you use the glaze (which I prefer) do you have to seal the piece? I know that the wax provides protection but from what I read the glazes do not. I'm afraid that if I seal my champagne furniture it will dull it. HELP!!!! LOL thank you!

    I have applied two coats and my finish is not smooth. I did not know about wetting the sponge. Should I lightly sand and try adding more coats?

    • @tracymaceachern838
      @tracymaceachern838 3 роки тому

      You donot have to wet your sponge! It can be slightly damp but that’s it and yes you should lightly sand with a high grit paper after each coat . Gatorhide streaks very easily . Using triple 0 steel wool works great.

    Are those brass hardware I'm trying to find something to use on bras jump rings and brass chains for necklaces and bracelets I tried the patina and some of it peeled off

    • @denaclay4079
      @denaclay4079 6 років тому

      They are brass, and I haven't tried any of the products on Jewelry hardware. I'm not sure how the oils and moisture in our skin would affect the product. Guilding waxes after fully cured my be your best bet. Good luck.

    Re-Claym'd Market did you ever have issues with bubbles? I just tried a polycrylic and had some immense frustrations with tiny bubbles showing up immediately after applying, despite lightly sanding and cleaning surface thoroughly before hand, and NOT shaking the poly container. I'm thinking of resorting to Dixie Bell'es gator hide which I haven't tried before! My understanding is that generally, polycrylics can be hard to apply with sponges as they can cause bubbles...?

    • @Crystal-be9ze
      @Crystal-be9ze 6 років тому

      Emma Loisch if you apply the poly the same way she applied the gator hide as long as your poly is water based you shouldn’t have any air bubbles, the key is wetting the sponge first and using a sponge with very fine pores, I hope that helps, I’m not endorsed by Dixie Belle although I have used the gator hide as well as lots of other polys and I apply them all the same and my finish is always amazing

    Does it need to be sealed...if so poly, or wax?
