Wow, amazing tone! Lack of surface noise too. Well done!
This song 🎶 is 101 years old when Jazz music 🎼 reigned supreme. One thing that started in the 1920’s was dating when automobiles 🚙 were becoming a bit more common. Criminals also began using automobiles 🚗 for committing crimes like using them for their getaway. This Jazz song 🎵 is amazing but that’s what took place in those days.
😆

😊
Fun, 😊
That was marvelous. Thank you.
Love these atmospheric songs from old time musicals, but can't believe what I'm hearing in the lyrics. I'm sure she'd get lynched by the suffragettes!
My all-time favorite, I have this one.🥰
Love this song, and the Gramaphone is amazing! And I really liked the glimpse of you dressed for the era!
Remarkable. I am there.
Very charming!
How interesting. I hear what sounds like a banjo of some kind. Sounds similar to the roll pattern I've used on occasion, 100 years later. Thanks for sharing
👍
Sounds great ! Thank you for posting.
EQB Grammophones has an 80HZ exponential horn and that exponential horn plays music in which it was already recorded in the 1910s, 1920s, and 1930s. These were some of the early decades of the 20th Century.
Wonderful !! This was recorded on my grandmother's 16th birthday : )
Such a sweet tune.💖
😚😚😚😚
A really nice one 😊
Love to hear the 1920's songs! I can imagine people on the dance floor.
One of my favorite Fletcher Henderson recordings…the melody is infectious…great arrangement by Henderson…it captures so much of the feeling and sound of the Roaring Twenties.
I remember plowing ny wife’s ass to this back in ‘29
u sure
This song cannot be ruined regardless of how it is interpreted.
Hopefully Joe can smile again four years from now.

Bing Crosby 1930 Mills Brothers 1931 Louis Prima 1956 David Lee roth 198?
This peppy tune is just what the doctor ordered. Many thanks !
These gentlemen are the same pianists who accompanied Blossom Seeley the day before (15 May 1925) when she recorded "Yes Sir, That's My Baby" and "It's Just That Feeling For Home" (issued on Columbia 386-D). What a terrific pair of pianists (they also accompany Seeley on Columbia 613-D recorded the following year).
Cool!!
Absolutely fine! One of the 20th century’s greatest pop tunes…it still radiates cheer and happiness today.
wonderful, and kind of...haunting. but thats why i like it!
Yes bring back the good old days before everything was on line and human beings answered the phone not soulless robots Oh bring back those wonderful days!
Your exponential horn puts many current audio systems to shame. Besides, you're playing Bix, enough said.
Perf for Mrs lopsided

It is still a pleasure to listen to the sound of 1928 music - even in 2025. GRL
Обожаю такие😂
🦭🐬🕊️🥰
Nice song. I think we should bring this style of music back.
Reminds me of Rudolph Valentino , who sadly died this same year .

Que tema más hermoso año 1929 👍
The Victor Ortho soundbox does exceptionally well with acoustic records, not just the later electric ones. Their much lower moving mass makes them more articulate than the heavy mica diaphragms.
Does anyone know about Rene Gelpi's architecture? He's said to have become an important figure in his field in NO. as well as the Owls' banjoist.
I'm loving Sol Shapiro's Yiddish style fiddle!
I wonder if they used a mobile recording studio for this. Thanks for the post.
They did, and since the recording equipment of the time was heavy, cumbersome and delicate, they would try to make as many recordings as possible, from as many different artists as they could sign, during a field trip. Bands that performed in cities other than New York, Chicago or Los Angeles were known as "territory bands" and rarely got to make records. The definitive version of this song was by Erskine Tate's Chicago band featuring the young Louis Armstrong, but this one is quite good.
It's amazing to know that this record is a hundred years old
Too bad some of these accustical recordings weren't electrically recorded.
