@@BluesUrbano22 Thank you. Love the bands and singers at Blue Chicago. What venues have live blues other than Kingston Mines, Blue Chicago and Legends? Are there any places anywhere within 5 miles of 83rd and Stony Island?
@@SuperMCFIVE I'm not a local, only travel to Chicago for the Blues Fest and maybe if I'm in the States during other season's. Besides those you mentioned, there are a few places with regular blues shows: Harlem's Avenue Lounge and the place this video was filmed, The Waterhole. Not sure how close there are from 83rd and Stony Island. The scene is not like it used to be when I visited Chicago for the first time in 1997.
@@BluesUrbano22 Thanks for those two. Yes, I'm familiar with both of them, but haven't gone to either yet. I lived in Chicago from '80 to '86. Many of the places I went to then are gone (but not forgotten‼️). Especially one place on the west side called "Poinciana Lounge" at Lake and Halmin. It's great you are able to come to Chicago to hear the blues. I love the groups that play at Blue Chicago, including BTS Express and The Mike Wheeler Band. And singers Demetria Taylor (daughter of the great Chicago blues guitarist Eddie Taylor), Laretha Weathersby and, of course, Shirley Johnson.
A few months ago, Denise LaSalle saw Jeannie in Dekatur, singing K'Jon's "On the Ocean." Denise raved about the song, and about Jeannie's version of it. High praise, indeed!
Jeannie is a fabulous performer. If your looking for great blues with a little RnB she is your girl. I've seen her perform a couple of times in Chicago. Each performance seems to get better and better. Keep it up!!!
I was there that night and she does her thing what a great voice and she is a great and nice person.
