The author of the books Diana Gabaldon has already said that the ending of Season 8 and the Outlander series will be different than the ending of book 10. One aspect of the end i always felt was missed im always have this "what a shame" feeling about. I get how they did it and it does look cool showing her face and the attack happen in the background. I miss how it was shown in the book, where claire hears distant drums in the background. And hears them build... Claire knows what it is, but it strikes terror into the minds of the party who kidnapped her, it's kind of cathartic for her seeing fear and panic in the faces of the men who did that to her, as the drums get closer. That panic and disorder broke their minds, so they start to flee, which is the point Jamie's men decend upon them. There's changes i lament way lore than that, but i always really liked the way the scene was written.
