I know this was a bit ago now, but I'm just clarifying about the Ghost Matter: it was never active underwater. You can see on Giants Deep when an island with ghost matter is thrown into space and falls back to the planet, while it's underwater the Ghost Matter becomes inactive. As soon as the island surfaces, however it comes back so it doesn't destroy it completely. This is actually extremely important to the lore of Outer Wilds as Ghost Matter not being deadly underwater is the only reason the Hearthians exist. The Nomai made notes of an extremely primitive aquatic species living on Timber Hearth. The Hearthians are implied to have evolved from those aquatic creatures, meaning they didn't crawl out of the waters until after the Ghost Matter had receded over quite some time. (Also I'm really enjoying this playthrough! Love your collective commentary!)

So funny thing, if there are things you haven't discovered yet, your projection to the prisoner is incomplete. If you don't solve the mystery of the interloper, the vision just shows the Nomai dying off naturally. If you don't discover the vessel, the vision just shows them arriving on the escape shuttle. It doesn't show them warping in from the vessel from who knows where into Dark Bramble. Personally I would absolutely love to see somebody playthrough this game for the first time with the DLC installed. I really wonder how it would change their experience if at all. Hell it would be entirely possible to add the stranger to their list of things to explore alongside everything else since there's an exhibit about the satellite in the observatory and you have to visit the observatory to get the launch codes, not to mention the satellite can show up on the map. Also as a note, marking an objective was actually in the game before. Makes finding the vessel after first visit super easy. They just added that line of dialogue telling you about it probably specifically because of this DLC.

You all mentioned a "suicide button" in order to end the current loop and begin the next one. I just wanted to see if you were tracking that Gabbro teaches you to "mediate until the next loop" which serves that purpose. Just checking if you weren't tracking.

Interesting that you learned the render distance thing before it was taught to you. I jumped off the boat in the shadowy tunnels before I saw the reel show it. That’s a consequence of the game never locking mechanics, just hiding them, but I wouldn’t want them to do it any other way.

Aw, too bad you guys actually might have missed some cool stuff (potential spoilers): At the Eye's projection of the Observatory, the exhibit for the Radio Tower and Deep Space Satellite talks about the Prisoner's species. At the Prisoner's grave, when you blow out the candles, the people in the pictures also disappear (for me that was pretty touching (and unsettling), like a paying respects in a funeral and beginning to let go).
