Trusting God...He has certainly provided for my family in Many ways. A short time after we got saved my husband stop selling pot , which was part of our income he said, and God proved he is our provider. We tithed faithfully and all was well. Also living for the Lord has made us content in our life, even more so than my extended family who are focused on how much they make a year. GOD IS GOOD!

My biggest problem with this religion is, i hear people say that god died for our sins, that only he can judge us, he forgives us and welcomes us with open arms....yet when it comes to people like me, a person in recovery and has 9 years under my belt, i hear people say that because i did drugs, because i had children and did drugs, i am going to hell. I got sober when my kids were still learning how to walk, i did not want them to see me like that nor did i want them to think it was ok to do what mommy was doing. But im going to hell? Which one is it? Will i be forgiven by god? Or constantly being dragged to hell by the people who "follow him"? How can it be both ways? I gave myself the strength to get sober, I got myself back up, and I had the will power to stay sober, god wasnt there, i was. He didnt reach threw me and lift me, if anything if there is a god, he forgot about me and thats ok because i would rather have myself and my will power then a god that has never been there for me when i needed him most. And the Bible? How can i believe in something that has been rewritten so many times by people? Words changed stories changed to make things seem much nicer then what they were. Changed so they dont offend anyone, changed to fit the story someone else wants it to be. Im all set with something being pushed onto people, i have me myself and my kids to believe in, i dont need all this.

There is no such thing as unconditional love it absolutely does not exist. It cannot exist in any relationship certain specific conditions had to have been met in order for the relationship to take flight and in order for that relationship to continue those conditions have to be maintained just like God‘s love according to the Bible the entire theme of the New Testament is Jesus saying love me or die that’s conditional that’s coercion that’s not unconditional love Jesus love is conditional. I’m so grateful. I’m not gullible enough to be a Christian. I don’t qualify.

Such a great word PJ. I've recently realized that I've often taken scripture & it's "hurt my faith".....but it's because I didn't stay in & wrestle with the scriptures. Some practical ways to wrestle through scripture would be SO amazing for people who've had the unfortunate experience of taking it out in pieces & hearing what you "want to hear"....so so good Jonathan.

All born in sin. Souls saved by his sacrifice. The Lord came into the flesh to feel the effects of the world on his people and knowing it, forgave all sins. The problem is the world. All souls are equal and worthy of his love. Rebuke sin, go forth and sin no more. Have compassion for those who struggle in this world. Love all people by teaching what the Lord has told us and showing them the way to eternal life through Him.

Thanks guys for this discussion. One thing we should add about spending time with God is, it's not just something that benefits us but it also benefits God. He loves it when we spend time with Him. He yearns for it. He loves us so much as His children and as His friends that when we come to Him in prayer or worship or even just chatting to Him as we work or drive or wash the dishes, He gets excited about that. It not only picks ourselves up spiritually but it picks Him up as well. He's a loving God who not only loves us but likes us as well and created us to spend time with Him.

To Answer the Question. Job. He allowed someone faithful to be tormented. That "test" shows me He is a Bored Omnipotent that created a Game Show/Soap Opera Entertainment Carnival for Himself. We are the Fleas in the Flea Circus.

So whose understanding are you to "lean to?" God's not saying much. Pastors don't have a clue anymore, and they'd be "leaning unto their own understanding"
