Despite what you might see on social media & UA-cam, David Beckham did not score 65 free kick goals. Beckham himself even shared a meme saying he scored that many, but it's wrong! He scored 54... Ryan Giggs ALL 42 UEFA Champions League assists (most ever in history)

UEFA's official count only begins around 2001, which is why on their website Ryan Giggs is only credited with 31 assists. Giggs is sometimes credited with 43 assists, this is due to in my opinion, a heavily deflected assist being counted. Using OPTA's definition, he has 42 - it excludes qualifying rounds and heavily deflected or other non-standard, non-OPTA "assists" such as winning penalty. *S...

La UEFA tiene mal los datos de asistencias, la UEFA(en su pagina) en nations league le conto una asistencia a ronaldo por un rebote de un tiro libre en la barrera, asi como en la Euro 2016 donde le cuenta una asistencia, de un rebote vs croacia, entonces por eso podemos deducir que la UEFA en su página tenga a ronaldo con ese récord de asistidor
El sitio web de la UEFA simplemente no está actualizado para contar las asistencias anteriores al año 2000. Es por eso que no encontrará todas las asistencias de Giggs, ni tampoco las de ningún jugador como Zidane.

No estoy muy seguro de la fecha exacta. Pero eso explica por qué no le dan a Giggs 42. Mira a sus top 30, todos debutaron después del año 2001. Mientras tanto, todos los centrocampistas de élite de los 90 como Zidane, Rivaldo, Laudrup, Luis Enrique ni siquiera están entre los 100 mejores (hasta ahi llega la lista).

Opta has officially recognized the list as follows: Giggs 41 Ronaldo 40 Messi 39 I have asked which one of these 42 assists they are not counting but they have not answered. Meanwhile Mr. Chip gives Giggs 43. I think he counts an extra deflected assist. Opta recognizes deflected assists only if they are not heavily deflected.
We have reviewed all the assists of Ronaldo and Messi one by one and we are pretty confident that 41 for Ronaldo and 40 for Messi is the correct score. The same for the 42 of Giggs. The only one that can be a bit confused is the assist number 24 to Ronaldo against Milan. If you see, Giggs kicks the corner, Ronaldo heads the ball, and the ball goes towards the Goal and in the moment of crossing the line, it seems that between Dida´s arm, Heinze and the other defender of Milano they touch the ball again. It could be an own goal depending on the interpretation. But the rest of them are very ,very clear.
Would be nice if you push to Opta to know what are the deducted assists. It seems very weird to me that they deduct 1 assist for each one. 😆
@@marconagle4465 It would only be an OG if the original shot was not on target, deflected shots are still considered goals by the attacker if they are on target. So it wouldn't be an OG - though I think Dida gets the final touch. Regardless, officially Ronaldo is credited as the scorer and we'd be taking one of his goals away, I don't think we'd do that. As far as Opta, I tried asking them why they deducted 1 from each. They may be stricter about deflected assists. They say they allow deflected assists as long as the original player was going to receive the ball without a deflection. Interpretation of that may be more strict than you'd imagine.

Dissapointed they didnt won the US Open or came out successful in the MLS playoffs....but Inter Miami still has a lot to be thankful for....They should also be forever grateful for having Messi who led them with his other two old teammates, to win their first silverware in the history of the club...That accomplishment in winning the Leagues Cup for the first time will always be remembered.
