How to Tie a Multi Rig | The Perfect Carp Rig For Pop Ups | BadAngling
That’s a fluke style bait(maybe a caffeine shad)…not a paddle tail.
I cant have that much of a leader unfortunately seems like 10-12 inches total length max! On a baitcaster or youll have backslashs trying to cast anything longer
Excellent video, thanks!
I use the floating worms & biggest hook which allows it to still float well. Bass luv it. Want to work it slow so worm can still float back up or stay up.
You can also rig with a bobber stop. Two less knots and adjustable
No bead bruh (-': Why. Do you hate us? Do you fear nothing? Are you godless? I need answers.
Great video. I seen a similar setup in Cabela's with 3. My state limits us to 3 but because of your informative video gonna pickup a rig tomorrow. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for taking the time to drop us a comment! Glad we were able to help, let us know how it goes on the water! Tight lines 🎣
I use size 3/0 and 4/0 for Texas rigs and flukes . It catches some bass
i was your 1000 sub
Woohoo! Thanks for the support and tight lines!! 🎣
Im a noob to all of it. I usually just use straight 14lb mono on my rods. Dobt have a bunch if money or rods to spool around. Thanks for the video
what about hooks where the eye is bent toward the hook tip?
That's a fisherman's knot not a uni.
Man loving your vids. Your breakdown is really good. Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much for the comment - really glad you’re enjoying the videos. It means a lot to hear these breakdowns are helpful! Tight lines and happy fishing! 🎣
A tip for you all. They make a hollow tube that lets you slide an o-ring onto the worm. Slide the hook between the o-ring and the worm. You'll lose far fewer worms in the grass as the worm won't tear....until after 20 bass
A great tip to extend the life of your plastics! Thanks for sharing-20 bass per worm is a big win! 🎣😂
Nice overview. Are you matching 15 braid to 15 fluoro?
Thanks for the comment! We prefer to use a lightweight leader, typically between 8-10 lb which is what we're using in the video. Matching can work too depending on the conditions and will give you a bit more strength if you need it. Tight lines! 🎣
I often use the wacky like a frog, over some thick cover where there are open patches that I can let fall through.
A great tip that definitely triggers strikes, particularly in summer when bass are sitting waiting for food to drop through the pads! Thanks for sharing 🎣👍
Thanks helpful!
Glad you found it useful, thanks for taking the time to let us know! Tight lines! 🎣
Super helpful. Thank you guys
Great piece if kit 👏 where can I get some?
Hey, nice video! One critique I have is that you should use a knot to connect your fluorocarbon or mono to braid. A blood knot is a good one to start with because it can travel through the eyes of the reel and it's fairly quick to tie.
Great point. I often use a line to line knot, but I've found I get less line twist when I use a swivel for this rig. I should have added that to the video 🤦♂️
ua-cam.com/users/shortsQInJnNgglj8?feature=share
When you need a bite you gotta get crazy with it and tie on a wacky rig
Absolutely, the Wacky Rig is a game changer when the bites are tough! Tight lines! 🎣
you can make an emergency version where you put a bullet weight and use a small split shot. ill do that when ive already been throwing texas rig for a while, just clamp on the split shot
This dude IS NOT a fisherman You forgot the bead before that sinker, my friend.
He also should've told people to be careful with the weight you use, especially when putting it on braid, because braid isn't as abrasion resistant as mono. I don't like putting any knot on braid unless I'm using split shots on like 3lb nano braid for trout. Even then I use a flouro leader and put the split shot on the flouro, and I usually use at least 6' of flouro for the leader because of the braid's higher visibility to the trout. I don't think I've ever used a Carolina rig when using braid. I might have done it once or twice, but I can't remember doing it.
That was not a uni knot. That was a clinch/fisherman's knot.
While not as "trendy" these days in the south as it used to be, its a tactic I still use frequently during the dog days of summer when the fish are in deeper waters.
Thanks for sharing your experience! Regardless of trends, it's definitely a classic technique, great to hear that you're still finding success with it! 🎣
How to apply in salt water also bait can use
You could adapt it for saltwater fishing, try using heavier weights and stronger leaders to handle the conditions and fish size. For baits, try using soft plastics that mimic local prey like shrimp or baitfish. Live bait is always a solid choice when fishing in saltwater too. Tight lines! 🌊
that knot you tied is a regular fishermans knot i believe, the Uni knot the tag end comes through the top, but good video and information my friend i was able to learn some stuff
Glad it helped, thanks for the heads up!!
awesome video much needed thank you :)
Glad it helped, thanks for taking the time to let us know!
I’m confused I got size ten hooks and size 6 hooks yet the size 10 hooks are bigger what is going on???
The hooks size is the same standard for electrical wire sizes..
I use barbed hooks I don't think It matters cause when I eat I think that does more damage to the fish then the hook does 😂
That was an awesome video. I didn’t know about barbed they’re evil and I never heard of octopusHook
Glad it helped you!
I couldn't imagine ever releasing a fish with a hook lodged in it. If i can't remove a hook without injuring the fish, I'm keeping and eating it. Hell, if I hook a fish in the gut at all i'm keeping it.
Hooks are extra sharp , no issues at all. All fish should beware. The are some serious hooks period!!!!
Very well presented video thank you. Can i ask if using a wafter or bottom bait with foam round the hook does it matter how far the top bead is slid up. As the hooklength would just naturally fall on top of silt or weed? I can understand bead would affect a pop up bait Sorry for newbie question
No trebles, doubles or barbs. 😎
Largest hook you need for freshwater is 1? Most bass fisherman use 1/0 through 6/0 lol
I think you should change the name of your channel to GoodAngling or something similar.
This video is so helpful. Now everything about hook is clear to me
thanks man very thorough will check out ya other vids 🫡
boring
So circle hooks aren’t just for salt water?
very good information
Came here to see how you striped the braid and you absolutely shocked me, I'm impressed how you just done it with your fingers 👏👏
Yep. Thanks
Why not use a small pva mesh bag on the heli system?
Hi Drew, this is absolutely an option and an approach we've used multiple times successfully. If the situation doesn't support the approach we've outlined here (e.g. if you're getting ravaged by catfish) a PVA mesh bag on a heli rig is a great option!
@@bad.angling would a pva bag be okay on a lead clip system as well with a longer rig, I’ve saw anglers such as Ian chilcott using that set up.
@@bad.angling thanks for the response also.
I exclusively fish helicopters and pva bags don't work with the mechanics of a helicopter rig. They don't cast well.
@@ScottToomeyy but other than the cast, they present well?
Excellent video mate and very informative about the pros and cons of silt fishing cheers tightlines
