If you have any questions regarding patching or anything else - leave a comment and I will try to describe/answer it :) Arturia is playing in a paraphonic mode. I've set velocity (Velo button on sequencer) to Pitch (Ptch) and patched MIDI Velo/Mod 1 VCO 2 Pitch 2. It allows to make second oscillator to play another melody, separately from melody of first oscillator.

    Hey buddy... I got the minibrute 2s and I'm wanting to get the rackbrute to use for effects, especially reverb. What modules would you recommend me getting?

    This was great. I have a MB2 and was considering the best way to integrate M32 into it. How do you like the modular rack addition for the MB2?

      Hey! Thank you for your comment! It's been a while, and I don't own any of the modules in the video anymore. What I'd suggest, is that if you already have one semi-modular synth, it might be a good idea to step away from getting another semi-modular, and concentrate on expanding the current one. If you still want to get a voice, I'd recommend to get a Plaits. It is so versatile, can't really go wrong with it. And then get modulation sources. Like XAOC Batumi, for instance. Or Voltage Block by Malekko. Get envelope generators (Maths is a good example, but basically any other is good, especially if you can loop it without being triggered and basically use it as an LFO). I made this mistake, and at some point after making this video ended up having 3 semi-modulars, which sounded exactly the same, as usually they just have very basic waveforms. Noise Engineering do great stuff, but might be too extreme for some people. Also, don't underestimate samplers. There has been a couple of great releases, such as Squarp Rample or ALM Squid Salmple. ua-cam.com/users/nivenofficial Check him out, he's just great.

    Congratulations! I already had the Mother32 and this video made me order the Minibrute! You managed to reveal the sweetness of analogue synthesis in such a simple yet effective way.

      Hey! Thank you for your comment! And congrats on your purchase :) Speaking from my own experience, I'd like to encourage you to start exploring different modules (if you haven't so far, of course). At some point I ended up buying semi-modulars, as it is an easy solution, and I was just overwhelmed looking at 6000 modules on modulargrid and scratching my head like "and what am I supposed to get". However, I've started looking at what others are doing, and now have completely moved away from semi-modulars and now I'm just getting modules separately. I know it might be a difficult step to make, especially in the beginning, considering prices, and it might feel like "how an LFO module can cost 250€". But when you have a small rig, you won't be modulating too much with it, hence 250 is expensive. But when you have a bigger setup, you'll be able to modulate a lot of things and that's when you understand, that 250 is an okay price for a thing, which may change your setup and music drastically. Also, with other modules, you'll be able to open up even more possibilities of your Mother-32 and Minibrute, so again, I'd encourage you to start looking into other things as well, though semi-modulars are great for beginning this journey!

      @@iangaplichnik7967 Well I guess I've done more than that... I simply dived full in the modular world Beatiful things out there if you know where to look... I'll try to put some of the vibes I catch while riding the eurorack territory on my channel just like you did and inspired me. Maybe others will... catch up.

    Exceptional quality. What equipment did you use and did you record the audio from the soundboard?

    • @iangaplichnik7967
      @iangaplichnik7967 4 роки тому

      Hi! Thank you! Sound engineer was very kind and recorded sound straight from mixer for me (just stereotrack) . However, it was very dry, hence I've also left my zoom next to the sound engineer and recorded ambience as well and then blended them together.

    sick setup and great music, can you explain me how did you hook up MB2S and M32, how do you clock everything? thank you

    • @iangaplichnik7967
      @iangaplichnik7967 4 роки тому

      Actually, in this patch Arturia is using its own clock and on Moog I have set Assignable output to random and used it as clock, it gives interesting results sometimes :)

    Bro thats exactly my goal to make tracks like that. Just reveived my moog mother 32 but i m about to get the minibrute 2s real soon. I think both together can be big fun, even more with the patch bays!

    • @iangaplichnik7967
      @iangaplichnik7967 4 роки тому

      Yes, that's true! Moog might be a bit limiting, but sounds great. I found Minibrute (or any other synth with more features) to be a great extension. Having more lfo's is quite important for moog, in my opinion. However, you should be aware, that minibrute is quiiite big (though the sequencer is amazing, it has some features, which could have been done in more convenient way), I think that soon I'll be selling minibrute, due to its size, as I am moving towards more traditional eurorack setup with smaller case and I got an octatrack, replacing Volca, which now allows me to sequence my modular with it. But it is a matter of trying, what didn't work for me, might work for you (actually it worked for me as well, but after changing the setup it became less comfortable). So good luck! :)

    This absolutely stunning, great melodies and musical taste. I am wondering, do the oscillators share the same gate track? If so, how did you manage to get one osc to play quarter notes while the higher melody is playing sixteenths?

    • @iangaplichnik7967
      @iangaplichnik7967 5 років тому

      Hey! Thank you! Indeed, Arturia voices are sharing an amp and filter. Basically, amp gate is all the time open (decay is super long so it doesn't have enough time to close the gate) and it just takes everything you feed to it. And then one pitch pattern is playing 1/4 and the other one 1/16. At least I remember it to be so and it makes sense :)

    • @iangaplichnik7967
      @iangaplichnik7967 5 років тому

      And I used just sine wave for the bass, so I wouldn't have to filter out high frequencies, which could interfere with lead melody, since I only had one filter available

    thanks for the video, awesome sound! What is making the pad sound, the Arturia or Moog?

    • @iangaplichnik7967
      @iangaplichnik7967 5 років тому

      I am not sure, which sound you are referring to as a pad, Arturia is playing in the beginning of the video and Moog starts at 00:39 Hopefully this will help :)

    • @iangaplichnik7967
      @iangaplichnik7967 5 років тому

      So "bass" melody , which is the very first one to play is Arturia, then you can hear Moog added on top of it at 0:39, and then another melody added at 1:20 is also Arturia
