Drew Carey is the best host. But I wish that Doug Davidson can take over the price is right and maybe being back his models. And maybe bring back Burton Richardson. And also they need to do more episodes of the new price is right.
I was only able to catch a few episodes. I was only 8 when the show came on but it kept getting put into late night slots because of the OJ Simpson trial. Other than the video wall, I really enjoy the set design. Wonder if they could use that for the current show?
Doug Davidson should of got the hosting gig when Bob Barker retired and he could of still be on Young & Restless maybe on recurring and Don Diamont character would of been saved on Y&R.
In Fairbanks, the nighttime TPIR aired only on weekends, as KATN couldn't find any space to fit it into the weeknight schedule (they were an ABC/NBC affiliate at the time). Meanwhile, Bob and Rod on the DAYTIME version thought that with the NEW TPIR, they were done. But after one season, the new TPIR WAS done!
Gene Rayburn once snarked, "Television network executives are verrrrry smart men," when questioning how a show can build a following if it keeps getting moves to different times with no advance notice or publicity. Rayburn was proven right and they were wrong when they chose Drew Carey over this guy Doug, who did a pilot to replace Bob Barker.
Score/Edd Kalehoff did use a new music package for this show. Some of this music started appearing on the Barker version, along with a little music from the revamped Feud music for the 1994-95 season of Feud, in 1996.
I remember watching this version every day as a kid. I loved it then, and I love watching it now. Doug was a spectacular host, and that jazzy theme song was top-notch. I'd love to see this back in reruns someday.
Thanks for giving us this. While I always loved the daytime version, I thought this version was underrated. Bob always did a good job hosting, and Drew does well too. Doug was a nice fit as well.

They should re do the Pilot and do it for POP TV almost 2 decades later and promote Y&R.

I actually liked this version growing up. Doug did pretty well as host, but I think the lack of bidding might've hurt things...
