Hi. Thank you for your comment. No i haven't posted any videos of stitching directly onto clothing. If you're wanting to give it a try it's just the same as stitching onto fabric. Although i usually add an extra layer of tear-away fabric stabilizer behind my work so i can be really sure that there is no buckling or distortion of the fabric.

Hi, thank you for your comment. I'm stitching on unbleached cotton. It's the thickest cotton calico i can find that's not bull denim, if that makes sense? It's really important to wash the fabric with no soap or softener before you start , as you don't want anything to interfere with the absorption of the ink. Hi. There needs to be a gap so that you can mold it into a bowl shape. If there are solid lines of stitching then it will remain a flat circle and if you try and mold it over something you will get warping and ridges instead of a curved bowl shape with smooth sides. I hope this makes sense, if not, please let me know.

Hi. In this video I am using a Singer, Heavy Duty machine. I enjoy using this machine for embroidery as it can stitch quite a bit faster than my other domestic sewing machine, which also means that it is easier to control the speed of my stitching. The embroidery foot I am using I got with my Bernina machine. Amazon has a sewing foot called: "Large Metal Darning/Free Motion Sewing Machine Presser Foot". This foot is slightly different in that it is spring-loaded, which helps to gently hold the fabric in place (while still allowing free-motion stitching), and as it has a larger hole it is easier to see what you are stitching. I have this same foot and I often use it for free-motion stitching. I hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. I have a fast Janome and I agree that it's fun to put the pedal to the metal! Didn't know you could use a Bernina foot on a Singer but that's good. Which number foot is it? I have a no.9 for my Bernina which, as mentioned before, looks smaller. Unfortunately, the foot you recommended won't fit my Janome as it's high shank but thanks anyway.

@@Tina-rj7qe Hi. I can't see any number on the foot I'm using. I also have a darning foot with a clear plastic base, that works fine for free-motion stitching. Maybe you could try one of these, they work just as well as an embroidery foot.
