agreed I have been uploading media to preserve it here and make it more accessible Edit: it didn’t work
That is unfortunately one of the issues with preservation. The mere fact that preserving copies of it technically falls under "illegal" status if you're sharing it. Which really sucks if it's stuff that is out of print or very expensive to get ahold of. It also defeats the purpose of culture in a lot of cases because sharing it is so critical to keeping it alive. I should really make a follow up to this video to really go into depth about the problems preservationists face.

I did it. I was really working with a set of resources and just trying to do whatever I could to make them look relatively cool, I hope. It probably came out the way I did because I was hoping to say something about information overflow that we're all inundated with every day.

I have a friend who is a preservationist of TV media in Brazil. He works for a broadcasting company. In his personal archives he has old school commercials from the 90s, important and/or shocking events in history, I really admire his dedication. Media preservation in games is a must too 😊
Absolutely. Preservation everywhere and in every medium is critical. But it kind of gives me anxiety thinking about the volume of stuff that's out there that we need to preserve. It's absolutely staggering.
It is simple. We are all going to die and be forgotten to time.
I mean, maybe. But as long as we have the tools and the ability to do so, we should save as much as we can when we can.
