being that i went through a similar experience, it definitely gets swept under the rug in black families. i have an older cousin (only 2 hears older) who was the same way but now being an adult seeing how these things go uncorrected i think he probably was a victim but because it never was talked about then thought it was okay. now i’m just the family member that don’t really deal with anyone but its because they hate talking about these hard topics.
