      I use it all the time, if you look at my videos, I have videos that are long trips in my Truck, I have it upside down clued on the top of my windshield with the USB connected. The unit is 100% charge all the time. I will make a video about how I use it, but for now watch my videos and see how they do. Also, I run the air conditioner right on it so there are no overheating issues.

    There is a drain track under the oil filter that is meant to work with the little plate that you did not take off. I take the little plate off, then stick a plastic water bottle cut in half and attach that to the drain plate. Any oil from the filter drains onto the plate, through the bottle and into the collection pan. No need for rags and minimizes clean up. Just saying. That little plate is there for a reason, and is meant to work with the drain plate to help keep things clean.

    • @Andi_Doci
      @Andi_Doci 8 днів тому

      I have done that before but the way I did it was the cleanest I manage. So, quickly turning the filter after the oil from the pan has been drained yields the least oil in the filter. This way oil spillage is minimized before I even need to remove the filter. If I was to follow the procedure that it was designed for, I would also need a shop. If you look at my video and compared to others you see that what the oil that was spilled on mine were just some droplets. That is a far cry from what I see on other's videos. And working the filter from that tiny port where the plate is, you must have some small hands. I have sufficiently long arms, so my way is just less work and more convenient, without hurting the skin on my hands from all the sharp edges on the port. Also, your bottle catches the oil, but you still need to get to the filter, so really, I don't know how you do that from the same port. In that case some oil still has to drip on the drip plate before it gets to the bottle. The oil spilled on my video was less than even that. With rags taking care of the rest.

  • @Willdevl
    @Willdevl 22 дні тому

    I'm curious, do you happen to know what those four slots in the stern piece are for? Looks like it's for two poles to go across and at first I thought you could put a larger version of the seat right on them, but it's too far back and I'm already thinking it's close enough to the water back there..I'm 250 pounds and sit further back than you with this kayak. I figure they're for some kind of a place holder for installing a table, canopy, trolling mount? Either way, I'm stuck wondering why they are there other than to help get more water in the back when I have to break out the paddle due to wind and poor depth in some mosquito lagoon spots. I'm thinking of putting a trolling motor in the pedal system spot, adding weight to the front where I can use plenty of it versus buying the yakgear outriggers for the stern area. What are your thoughts? I know you're no expert but you're doing a great job with the mods and have the same line of thinking as I do when it comes to the buoyancy concerns, etc.

    • @Andi_Doci
      @Andi_Doci 20 днів тому

      I can only assume it's for outriggers. But I used the setup I did for the front because it's a more convenient system for me. I am sure they can be used for anything your mind creates with them. Better them being there then not anyway.

    • @Willdevl
      @Willdevl 20 днів тому

      @@Andi_Doci I had a feeling it could be for the inflatable outrigger setups, it's strange to have two of them though. I've settled on adding a trolling motor into the pedal system like some companies offer for $600+. Easy to rig up for $450 total. Then you just switch it out when you have wind or distance.

    • @Andi_Doci
      @Andi_Doci 15 днів тому

      @@Willdevl I have seen thrust motors for much less than that on amazon. I am sure a few L-beams from HomeDepot and some scrap boards would make a nice transom at the pedal location if you were to use the threaded rails to secure it.

    • @Willdevl
      @Willdevl 15 днів тому

      @@Andi_Doci Well while I was looking into thrust motors, I noticed that a lot of them did not have enough thrust unless you went up in price. I'm going to go with the motor being on the front, left side of me. I thought about it and if you had to change it out, It's a lot of pain while you're on the water. Meanwhile if I had it on the side I can just lift it out of the water, np. I can also keep an eye on that for when it's getting close to the bottom better as well. It's all better being on the side other than the thrust coming from the side.

    • @Andi_Doci
      @Andi_Doci 15 днів тому

      @@Willdevl However you go about it, but these trolling motors are made for boats with multiple persons and gear on them. So don't underestimate the power of one of these to push your kayak around. Even a cheap one will be just as fast or faster than you pedaling.

      The two parts of the kayak come together very tightly, there is absolutely no wiggle. Yes, possibly could, you would have to set the pedals at the nearest position to the kayaker and the seat all the way forward. But that is as small of a child that possibly could do so. Any younger and I would just tie the kayak to mine and just pull them around. There are more videos in my channel about the kayak, the shorts also, that could help you.

    I would LOVE to be able to see what you are doing, but the video was shot from the non-worked side. It does look like that connector is really getting manhandled. I would be afraid of damaging it using this technique. I get the concept but I would worry about that electric connector on the chain side.

    • @Andi_Doci
      @Andi_Doci 4 місяці тому

      Thats how I do! I man handle it every time. You can drop the chain from the sprockets and then work the tire or tube from the other side. This would give you room to move the wheel without disconnecting everything. It's a little more difficult to execute but it also keeps all original connections in place. After the first few times you'll get tired and just simply cut all zip ties and replace them with whatever you can find, including white ones. But, for those who want to keep as many original pieces as possible this would be a way to go.

      You mean to fold it while on the truck? In that case because I don't have to, it's manageable the way it is, and I have all my gear on top of it. If I was to travel a much longer distance, I would fold it. Also, if you mean to pass through the access ramp while folded, in that case I would say that it would actually be doable if it wasn't as easy as it was to move through unfolded.

      The shoe is this kind: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HLD88MF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 What I like about them is the Stainless-Steel mesh on the bottom. It's a life saver if there are sharp objects that could cut your foot. But it collects sand, so cleaning is kind of a hassle. I also use toed socks to add a layer so that I don't end up with skin peels from long hours of pedaling.

      Some of my videos are on a powerbank, but I am sure you could run it with the battery on full charge and even if the USB power is not sufficient, it could last you for many hours more than just the battery alone. But I am sure that a USB plug like that has the power to run it no problem on it's own.

    • @BarryP
      @BarryP 3 місяці тому

      It really depends on the USB module that's installed on your bike. As long as it has enough output, the cam will record fine without the battery. If it's a not-so-great output on your bike's USb port, it will still likely at least keep the charge level steady while recording.

    Do you feel the outriggers were a necessary addition? Assuming for standing up mainly but wondering if you had problems with wake before using them. Bought myself one and haven't tested it in anything but calm water so far.

    • @Andi_Doci
      @Andi_Doci 5 місяців тому

      I know this, when I have my youngest daughter seating in the rear portion of the kayak, I feel like the kayak is eager to roll. This could be also to the weight distribution alone. But when she sits up front and I have my seat all the way back, it's very steady. No problems whatsoever. You can safely assume that larger outriggers would help the kayak be even steadier. Or if you have these installed even further apart, but that would make things more cumbersome in narrow places.

Yeah I'm a bigger guy than you, 250, and felt I had a lot of water in the back, scupper holes weren't even draining it, but I had all gear and all in the back, feels like I need to shift some weight forward but others have stated water in the kayak is normal and it won't sink with only 320 lbs at most. First time using this sit on top style vs sit in. Feel way more confident after watching your vids explaining the weight could be close to 700 you feel. But I would recommend you do the same. Overall, my set up its toon for convenience. Storage, transport, launch, all have to be convenient.

  • @ramonguirao6072

    Why did you choose to put the outriggers on in the front instead of in the back where the premolded slots are?

    • @Andi_Doci
      @Andi_Doci 6 місяців тому

      The placement of the outriggers was pretty much because of the ease of installation possible by the pre molded locations available in this kayak at the front. The moldings in the back aren't the same size as the two in the front, they are actually smaller, so the Starport bases do not fit. The design of these outriggers is such that if I wanted to install them in the back, I would need a one-piece pipe to make it possible to install in the back. Doing so it would make it somewhat semi permanents and more difficult for transport. This is because I could not use the Starport bases, unless I installed the bases with the included screws for the outriggers. I just did not want to do that. Regardless, the best location is usually right in the middle. But in that case, you would not be able to paddle. But still the location on this kayak is actually very optimal because it is surprisingly stable considering the size of the outriggers. The location where you place your foot to hop on the kayak is closer with the placement of the outrigger as compared to the placement to the rear. And most of the waves usually hit you from the front, therefore presenting the effect of the outriggers immediately and negating the rolling effect immediately. Obviously, the size of the outriggers matters but as I said they happen to be effective for the size they are. Also, if you look at larger outriggers, they look have similar attachment in terms of size, making it possible to use the same hardware to mount larger outriggers if need be. But to sum up the stability question. Why are performance trikes always designed with two wheels up front? And all trikes that have two wheels in the rear are always utility trikes that carry loads in the rear? Because performance in corners means you need stability up front, and with utility you aren't thinking about performance, but you are placing most carrying capacity right under the load. So, what is more stable than a performance trike? A car! So, placing the outriggers right in the center gives you the same effect as having a wheel in each corner. Mathematically it is equivalent; therefore, it predicts that the performance is the same as having them in each corner. Anyway, I know it's too lengthy of an explanation, but I hope it answers a lot of current and future questions.

    • @Andi_Doci
      @Andi_Doci 6 місяців тому

      Just as I guessed, but I did verify it by reading a post in the DJI official forum. The stickers are in case there is any play between the DJI quick release and the ACTION 4 camera. Mine is very firm in its connection to the quick release, but I am guessing that the quick release adapters from other DJI models could be older or slightly looser because of age or design and still work. So, many people would still use the older quick releases and therefore they might find these blue stickers useful, the anti-slip pads as they are officially called, to mount the camera firmly in place to the older mounts that they already own.

    • @Andi_Doci

      All kayaks have that issue. But there are two solutions for you so you can have a "peace of mind". One is to simply foam fill it; the other is to fill it with empty soda bottles that are capped tight. I have mine filled with foam; 2-part flotation foam purchased on amazon. I did this because of the same issue you are having. Now I don't have to worry at all.
