Ezra Bell - Don't All Look Up At Once (Full EP)
RIP. Favorite voice of all time, so bummed Covid took away the chance for me to see him live.
Love! RIP!
Rest in peace. God. I was supposed to see you tonight, didn’t know you had passed. Thank you for everything, and rest easy.
Rip ben 🎉😢
I feel like I was passed by something beautiful that I'm lucky to have been alive to see. Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us all. Your lyrics carried my family out of some dark dark places, and I'm just thankful to you guys. Beautiful beautiful beautiful. I could be happy if I died today, if i go on living I'll try do same!
Relevant right now as then & still great. RIP Ben.
Just here, thinking about what we lost. Thank you for all the beauty you put into the world Ben.
This will be seen, when it is, his music will final reach the full audience. I think he would have enjoyed that because this and all his music is something extremely special.
The loss is rough. I'm very lucky to have seen him perform and had a conversation with him and his band. I'm happy to have gotten their full catalog on USB at the concert.
Guys, I can't believe he's gone. The way you write music feels like family. Godspeed Ben
This loss is absolutely crushing. Ben and this band were a guiding light for me through some very turbulent times. Thank you and rest easy
Few are as impressive as this effort. Rare-air songwriting, musicality, and arrangement. Peerless in genre.
I don't recognise this, (at least I don't think), it's super cool!
Anthem of our times
Been sharing this song with as many people will let me for years
What song is this ?
It will come out with a new name before too long, but...we call it Italian hip-hop or Italian job....so your guess is almost as good as mine.
Good old dad, he showed his hand He poured his drink on the carpet And outside I was watching the fireworks Burn out above like a card trick And when we slept you left your bed And ran to the arms of a grown man And all that night you left your light in The back of Vanessa Martin's mom's van And you still just borrow what you cannot steal You will ask what isn't owed When you find out that none of that is real Come back and dance the night away in dirty clothes One by one we all moved on While you just clung to your childhood And all that shame you prick your veins with Will never love you like I do Someone stands to hold your hand down there deep in the barroom All the night look left and right Love, tell me, tell me, where are you? And you still just borrow what you cannot steal You will ask what isn't owed When you find out that none of that is real Come back and dance the night away in dirty clothes
Almost saw you guys in burlington vermont. I think the show was canceled because of covid. Please come back this way if you guys ever can
that was a funny show. they really didn't have room for all of us. had to rearrange the bar to make space. or, perhaps i'm speaking about the prior one. we'll be back there in the winter. come see us. we'll all get to wear coats. so many pockets:)
jesus I have to see them live. northeast show plssss!!!
“The pictures of your saints hanging crooked from the drywall” - such a wicked line.. for a lot of reasons.. this dude was put on earth to write/make music… that much I know…
Amazing! I heard these guys playing at the 7th on Walnut, in Springfield MO
Weeks of enjoying your music on repeat led to mr sobering realization - so many haven't discovered your talent yet. They're missing out on something special. Your artistry is truly commendable. You deserve wider recognition. As a German fan, I hope against hope for a chance to experience your music live someday. Your sound resonates across borders. Sending appreciation from Germany. Your music matters.❤
Spot on ❤ I’ve been dreaming of seeing them alive for 6 years now. Finally catching them tonight. I could cry just anticipating it!
Live* ha
@@meghan6438 yes omg
@@Louis-nd3hmit was amazing! My only disappointment is that they didn’t play their entire discography. Also, I talked to 4 members of the band at different points in the night, including Ben. They seem like great people. I really hope you can experience them live some time, they’re something special ❤❤
Such fun
This song had my jaw on the floor when they played it in Chicago. I can't wait for it to be released! It's a BANGER!

The piano intro always makes me think of the theme song to Trailer Park Boys ha. Another year that Ezra Bell is in my Top Spotify listened. This song (Sandra Jo) definitely up there even though it came out late in the year.
Perfect
Im so happy to have discovered all of you tonight in Durango Colorado... your music brings on the tears in a good way
Tonight I discovered him at a live show in Durango CO What a treat for my soul...
It took me a long time to track this entire song down . It was played briefly in the 2020 Film “ Butter “. I was drawn to this once I heard something about that “ Green Eyed Gypsy “. Freakin Brilliant I say !!! I will definitely be looking forward to more from Ezra 🤠🙏♥️
These guys were so fun to watch in Springfield. And they introduced me to the deliciousness of the 7th on Walnut
never misses
nothing is a waste of time when it comes to your music
Fair fair halos flying the mountains of her head Broke their crowns January whites Some say it's magic I would say that's just a guess Conjured up to con you while you hunt One hundred miles a hundred miles They like bricks and dusty paths We go up and down the aisles a hundred miles Fourteen pharaohs stood to lament to the king To death and dine with questions as to why Say lams like lions if they do not misbehave Who walk the greenest pastures when they die One hundred miles a hundred miles They like bricks and dusty paths We go up and down the aisles a hundred miles Someone smiles when they call your name And they convince you for a second you were not to blame You feel all shiny in your rusty frame one hundred miles Oh poor old Gary wore his [?] He kissed that serpent one too many times (Too many times) He don't know reason he don't care for what is true Darkness is much easier on the eyes One hundred miles a hundred miles They like bricks and dusty paths We go up and down the aisles a hundred miles Someone smiles when they call your name And they convince you for a second you were not to blame You feel all shiny in your rusty frame one hundred miles
Said you're here to serve me God knows that's a lie And I find your help unworthy Oh no and I will not be pacified Some say you're the heroes others parasites From the latter half, the cheer grows Oh no but we will not be pacified Until you talk to us like humans Till you set the wrongs done right Well you won't slow down the movement Oh no for we will not be pacified I ain't scared of your sickness I won't go back inside To your crimes I bear witness Oh no and I will not be pacified Say it once repeat you don't see black nor white You're lyin through your teeth Oh no we will not be pacified Until you talk to us like humans Till you set the wrongs done right Well you won't slow down the movement Oh no for we will not be pacified
Well my old shoes eat cotton And they dance for hours on end Nobody knows where I got them They always fall for that part at the end And you're here [?] Holding seats at the bar for his friends Old men [?] his grizzly white beard only so much money to spend When I run to the only thing I ever felt was mine It will give us an impositions upon hymns I could not find So I looked around for freedom and some easy place to sleep I remembered prayers and incantations And I loved you more than me (oh, oh, oh) You're little brother wears a ponytail Your orphaned mother faints I should've told you I loved you But the truth means so much less When I hold on to the only thing I ever felt was mine It will give us an impositions upon hymns I could not find So I looked around for freedom and some easy place to sleep I remembered prayers and incantations And I loved you more than me (oh, oh, oh) Oh and your voice is growing distant And the light in your eyes is still You want me to be a better man It ain't me you want it's him For it walks in filthy trousers And it floats in sodden creeks In the morning, come the sun, there won't be anyone but me (oh, oh,oh)
I heard it slightly different but thanks so much for your write up! Well my old shoes eat cotton They dance for hours on end Nobody knows where I got them They always fall for that part at the end And your hero dies here Holding seats at the bar for his friends Old men are digging his grizzly white beard Only so much money to spend I hold on to the only thing I ever felt was mine It grew guilt and impositions upon hills I could not die So I looked around for freedom and some easy place to sleep I murmered prayers and incantations And I love you more than me Your little brother wears a ponytail Your orphaned mother faints I should've told you I loved you But the truth means so much less Oh and your voice is growing distant And the light in your eyes is still You want me to be a better man It ain't me you want it's him For it walks in filthy trousers And it floats in sodden creeks In the morning come the sun There won't be anyone but me
I love yous sm!
Have you been reading your picture books About them pretty places you have never been Making friends to disappear Only to turn up in the back of some bad man's limousine If that's the best that you can do honey Well I hope it treats you fair Since tonight you are still stuck inside with me Well when we both crawl back up the stairs Let go and rest your head down Everything's alright baby now But we're too big to fit And this home is not for sale You've been walking on painted toenails You haven't called your mother in a month You've been living in that Soldiers [?] everything at once Flipping from their tongues Oh strangely [?] whiskey in the punch Soldiers [?] everything at once Everything at once Let go and rest your head down Everything's alright baby now But we're too big to fit And this home is not for sale Let go and rest your head down Everything's alright baby now But we're too big to fit And this home is not for sale
If anyone has improvements/missing words, I'd love to edit this and get it right.
