Using whistling kettle would allow you to determine the boiling point more precisely. 😊Or a glass pot with a lid. Thank you. 😊
I search for this cause I was thinking of making one😊
@@pauljohnagustin4079 go for it. Lots of fun!
I think spray paint is more fabric feel than waterbased ink. I will try this for sure
I am trying this for the first time this year. How do I over winter them come fall?
بہت خوب ویڈیو بنائی ہے چولے ہے 👌❤️👍
How did the fabric ink hold up compared to the spray paint?
I like the look and feel of the spray paint. I still have the shirt
I have experimented with all different types/methods for firestarters. I came up with one unique way to go about it. I take empty paper towel rolls and duct tape one end. Stand it on that end and install desired combustibles part way. Add wax to the level of the combustibles and repeat process to ensure 100% saturation in the tall tube. Now you can cut any desired length controlling burntime for whatever situation. They work great.
Thanks!
I have fat wood from the woods. Its free and less work
Looks to me like they are Canna Edulis, AKA Arrowroot. Apart from the lovely tropical beauty of it in the garden, you can also eat the rhizomes like a potato or dry them and use as flour/thickener. You can also eat the young shoots. The plant is also a great chop-and-drop soil improver. It's a fantastic plant!
Thanks for the great comparison demo👍
A separate supply air shaft would improve the chimney draft. This could then be regulated with another stone
I want to share a brick rocket stove innovation of mine. I'm not selling anything, no product links, I just want to share an idea that will improve the efficiency of this survival tool. I made a 9 min UA-cam video and hope you like it enough to share. I welcome your feedback! Sincerely, Michael Cone ua-cam.com/video/v_ahLpSiS_o/v-deo.html
It's November 4th of 2023 and I'm watching this video and storing rhizomes too!
Looks crappy
Indigenous Montagnard we eat the bulbs boil it taste so sweet
Or just make graveyard.
I have been using cotton with beeswax&coconut oil to make my fire starters. I have tried everything from cotton balls to tampons (tampons are perfect to dip in wax and retrieve b/c it provides a handy string on the end lol) IF you use these, make sure they are 100% cotton, no plastics) I have soaked small rolls of corrugated cardboard in my wax mixture. I thought about adding magnesium powder to the rolls before the wax completely dries. But I was concerned I would have a fireworks display trying to light them. Not certain of the safety in that. I also have some macrame 100% cotton cord (4-6mm). I braid three strands (aprox 20" to 30" each), use very small rubber bands to secure each end, then soak them in the melted beeswax/coconut oil for about 5-10 seconds, stirring the melted wax, pull them out, use paper towels to squeeze out excess wax (paper towels saturated with the wax can be used as kindling), then wrap them around a 6" wooden dowel, securing both ends (with the mini rubber bands I used to hold the ends together). I have tested all the different experiments, and they all work well, with aprox 5+ minute burn time. I also soak 8mm Jute in the wax and keep small rolled up balls of it. I have even made mini torches with the dowels, as well. They are AWESOME!
BIG ISSUE: All looks good except you should NEVER pour oil, grease, butter, or any fats down the kitchen drain - even if it's diluted with water. It'll cool and coagulate further down the pipes and clog the whole system and be a colossal pain in the ass to clear up. I found that out he hard way. My mother always used to pour bacon grease down the drain and it was constantly gumming things up. It would drive my father nuts and I'd have to go and help him take out the pipes. Always mop up the oil with a paper towel and throw it out.
Down the toilet or in the trash.
I started some strawberries kratky style, I am have some of the plants wilt, any ideas? not all of them though. So far I am impressed 3 weeks I am already seeing flowers.
Very nice video. Thank you😊👍
Damn , that some overcooked salmon. Stopped watching after "cool water and hot pan." NO, NO, NO.
He “uses the pan everyday” so his method is working for him!
I still use that pan daily. It's just like deglaising with wine. No issues.
Something that works great and is much cheaper: ua-cam.com/video/AilP1qQDCBM/v-deo.html Check them out here: www.amazon.com/20pcs-Relighting-Candle-Birthday-Decors/dp/B073Y9NMCN/ref=sr_1_6?crid=3MZGUN72U66X7&keywords=trick+birthday+candles&qid=1673663989&sprefix=trick+birthday+candle%2Caps%2C120&sr=8-6
What did you use for the color correction? Nice work.
Thank you! I used a water based stain golden maple (I think). Made by basic coatings
Love the result! Congratulations. Thank you for taking the time to do this tutorial and sharing it. Thank you
They looked great! What hydroponic fertilizer solution did you use? Other hydroponic growers say to cut off the first flowers to let the plants use energy to grow bigger , you get larger berries later.
What ever happened to the canna that was almost colorless? I had a seedling that showed the same characteristics… wondering if it stayed that light green yellow color???
It grew inside a storage tote and was colorless. After I planed it in the yard, it grew just like the rest.
Nice video. Inspired now to make a wind chime like yours - I love copper.
Yes! These are harmonically tuned. There are some good videos here on UA-cam. Go for it!
@@mrk-ph8pu Thank you! I'll look around for a good "how to".
A lot of rough comments. I liked the video. Though I use hot water and a bamboo spatula much the same way, I would venture to say that his cast iron pan should be safe. He only used a little bit of tap water and the pan he has is a super extra heavy-duty Lodge. Those suckers are designed extra heavy duty and the company even says that you can cook on multiple different cook surfaces without warping the pan. I have a few pieces. I wouldn't do this with my vintage Griswold, but I know my Lodge could handle this technique. And who cares about the metal spatula if it is used every single day??? What a bunch of pansy snowflakes with their crybaby comments. Thanks for the video! I thought you demonstrated just how tough your pan is!
Mix regular backyard dirt little bit of sand and water to make a cheap mortar seal up them bricks from suckin air and it will rocket a lot more. Needs to be a little taller too to create the desired draft. Every brick layer adds to the draw power of the rocket stove. Then it will achieve the temps you’re looking for with hardly any sooting of your pots and pans. I love making rocket stoves and Rocket Mass Heaters too.
How many layers of brick tall is best according to your experience. Not too crazy tall so it becomes unstable and not too short.
Sorry to tell you, no matter what the conditions or temp, these little things will never burn for an hour. Be realistic, you may get up to 15 minutes in optimal conditions.
Where do I get the metal grill from? 😊
Frim trash! I got 3
saludos desde Venezuela.
How many bricks did this take ?
I think it's about 26 or 27.
Wax? What kind of wax? This video is useless. Wax melts are not flammable and neither is earwax so please explain.
This was a block of scrap from a candle making supply store
@@mrk-ph8pu Ok, Probably similar to gulf wax i would guess..? Just looked up around 15 videos to figure out what kind of wax to use but no one ever says what there wax source is. At least 1 video did and that was how i found out what gulf wax is. Going camping soon so it's bothering me. Gonna try melting Pine sap and mix it with pine wood shavings while I'm there to see how that works as well.
@@chaoticrecluse6131 I've done bunch of different types of firestarters for camping, emergency kits, and Go/Get Home bags. Have used all manner of wax sources to mix with other 'ingredients' or waterproof by dipping or pouring over: Gulf paraffin canning wax Left over/used candle wax Old crayons (mixed into the above) Organic beeswax
It's CHOOCHIN!
I love the idea and I'm definitely getting one. However, as a busy mom, I have to say, the amount of time to get the wood burning is longer than the time you need to switch on the stove. Now, having said that, this is still a great solution for days you want to cook outside or for power outages. Thanks a lot for the demonstration!
Yes. It is a fun alternative to cooking indoors or even on a grill. Check Amazon..I bought one called an ez stove. It's portable and I love it!
Wonderful, I will! Thank you so much 💕
Your time on the stove started when you turn on the stove. From a cold start. A fair analysis is that the time for the rocket stove also started from when you started your fire. Because you did not give the electric stove eye time to heat up to
That one canna with the damage may be infected with canna virus which come from aphids. I’d cull that one if it was me.
Those tallest ones are enjoying your AC drip, that’s why they’re so tall! Water monger beauties those Cannas! Taro/elephant ears and bananas are like that too. My biggest taro patch sits right under the AC drip.
Aren't you supposed to cut of part of the potato with it?
Ótimo fogão a lenha gostei sim ok parabéns
I live down south where cannas grow perennially. We have a lot more than we need, and I'm looking to pull some tubers up and sell them at a garage sale. Question: Is there a bad time to pull these guys up? Or does it matter if you're not storing them over the winter? Thanks in advance!
If they grow perennially then the best time to dig them up is either at the beginning or the end of the growing cycle. If they grow year round then any time is good. Same applies to dividing the clustrrs
Whats the name of the spray paint
How many bricks total. I have some fire bricks, but need more. Thanks.
I am about to start this experiment and I think a few key points I have found to getting good harvests is to use about a 27gal container (recently $9 at Costco), cut the buds and runners initially to promote healthy leaf growth and then water change outs seem to be pretty important with TDS staying somewhere in the 800ppm-1000ppm range. Hope that helps.
Have fun with it! I love growing indoors
Canna lily don't have bulbs
Rhizomes.
Wow they are beautiful!!!!!
Wow that's the biggest of seen, very impressive, I've never had luck storing them in the basement, but I use them as house plants over the winter months.
