Traxxas Summit & Spartan - 2nd Launch - Chasing Dog
Traxxas Summit and Spartan on 2nd generation custom built off-road boat trailer.
Q & A:
1) Boat trailers are not for sale
2) There are no plans for the trailer build.
3) Trailer does not have a spring or shock suspension. The axles were designed with an equalizing beam to allow tandem tires to ride over uneven terrain.
4) Release servo on trailer is controlled with the rear diff lock channel of the Summit. Summit front and rear diff locks now operate together off the front diff lock channel.
5) Release mechanism has velcro to hold boat on the trailer.
6) Trailer build costs: aluminum channel = $30, misc hardware = $15, tires = $50, axle hubs and hub carriers (Traxxas parts) = $60, release servo = $16, lights and wiring = $25, rear bumper (two summit bumpers fused together) = $25,
7) It is a private lake
8) Everything done by radio control (release, launch, docking and return)
9) Chasing Dog is not for sale
10) and finally.... because its a hobby!
