A Fun Little Dive
Переглядів 1362 місяці тому
A fun couple of open water dives on 13 Sep 24 off the coast of Destin FL. This is not our typical style and a far cry from the usual rebreathers and stages. Sometimes it is fun to get back to simpler diving and go for a joyride on the old scooter. It was a blast diving with you all and I hope to again soon.

Thanks for this, I think these are great to document the early days of cave diving. That being said a small technical note, looks like there is a small audio sync issue.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the stories. Truly a legend of cave diving and innovator in scuba diving in general. I'm thankful and have much respect to those that pioneered the safety and tools of our sport so others can safely enjoy it too. Thanks Lamar. I love my Choptima 🤿➖🫧💦🪨

You should never go cave diving unless you are certified to do so. Cave diving is different than open while diving. It’s a whole new ball game and should not be instruction.

Scott, you are my instructor back in Pensacola around late 90's. I have not been in the water past 20 years but enjoyed diving HI, Japan, Maine, and best of all Cuba. Two other Navy folks Barb & Matt, one local named CJ and I formed / became the original ESAR dive team. Our ESAR team went to Morrison springs for a training and fun dive. We entered that 1st cave and I dropped down to around 91' and it was amazing to look around and see groups of divers in that large chamber but I decided to call my dive and headed back up to the opening, flipped around and crawled backwards because the flow was so strong it would press the reg button in when you faced the current. Keeping my head down I worked out and made it to that tree across the opening. Checked my air and I was at 200, did my stop at the platform watching the air get lower and lower but stayed a bit longer as I had not planned that depth. It was time to get out and warm up and we had a picnic and headed back to Milton! 150 some dives, rescue, search & recovery, dry suit, the only close call was in the pool when my regulator line burst and you drug me to the surface. Thank you for all the memories and my life long friends Matt (rip), Barb, and CJ

I did Vortex and Morrison Spring. (Only open water) And I was hooked. Videos on my channel. Not very good vids. Morrison had tannin in the water. Almost 0 viz. Bam! Clear water. So cool. Didn't even own a reel. Got cave certified. Sometimes we do stupid stuff. This guy had me drooling. Thanks.

a combination of shots from a couple of dives, dives sites were Emerald Sink, Peacock Springs - Orange Grove, and Hole in the Wall in Marianna, dive time varied based on the objective from each dive, some were just to film, others were to reach specific areas or to test new equipment, on average our dives for these video dives are 2+30
