Ah this looks just like the type of game... that I am not interested in playing in the slightest. Good job, Valve, you have perfectly captured my unimagination. Weird how they are going for post-modern buildings and mix that with Industrial Age era characters and outfits... and cars? And then there's... gun magic? The whole thing really clashes and things just look... weirdly out of place. It doesn't look like entities belong in their own world in the slightest. The muted colours, really, really don't help either. And most of the characters look like very bland, basic designs either minimally copied from DotA or by letting some intern draw his or her "original characters". Plus it seems they were inspired to adopt a sort of minimally cartoony style design and UI a la TF2. The bad graphics make it look like it's a game from 20 years ago. What a Frankenstein of a design piece this game is! If this is how the game will look upon release then I will describe the setting of this game as "Bland Tech Demo Purgatory Madness". In terms of gameplay this looks like TF2 meets DotA that wants to be Overwatch. Not sure if this can even overtake TF2. It looks pretty bad and bland to be honest. Then again, with Valve you never know. Maybe enough Valve fans start playing it. Still, I personally doubt this will be a success. Valve would stand more of a chance with TF3, but I guess then everyone will call for HL3. And I think that's what will happen. I think Deadlock will flop and that people will call for TF3, HL3 and possibly even L4D3 and Portal 3 in response.

The characters feel like they are from a Cthulhu-esk world like Fallen London but futuristic. Which is really cool. Then I show a friend and he said the characters look boring and bland..
