This ol' girl has ~350,000 miles on it now. It's been coast to coast and border to border. You might recall this one- it was "Green-Go" back in High School? Anyways- I took it to college and then lived in it for roughly a year after graduation driving aimlessly around the southwestern United States. No money- but I did have a car a therefore a roof over my head.

@@US-191 Wow -- a great story. Must've been fun living in it and roadtripping! I don't remember it from back in the day; just your blue '70 Roadrunner with the 383 4-speed (pistol grip).

440 6-pack, console automatic. Black bucket seat interior. It's a fairly decent original car with ~60k miles. Took me 50 years to track this particular one down. The background story of my connection with it has become very popular, so I think I'll put a video together explaining those details. If you watch "50 years in the making" on my channel, you'll get the most recent history.

Agreed. King Kong unleashed... lotsa great motor designs over the years, but only one HEMI.

You & Pam were some lucky girls back in the day. Not only did you have the world's "coolest" babysitters, but also played with Barbies (no seatbelts) in back of the only 426 HEMI powered 1965 Dodge Coronet station-wagon on Woodward Avenue.

Well stated! I've heard some wonderful stories from Detroit guys in their youth, seeing the Ramchargers "road-testing" cars on the streets in their neighborhoods or hanging around the shop in the early evenings. Often parked outside with the hood up and talking with them, but if an "adult" would walk up, hood went down and the car would drive off. Those guys were damn special- and have given us all a legacy to enjoy. Get the book if you don't already have it- you will enjoy the time travel and memories that come out of Dave Rockwell's words and photographs

Yes 5.5 wheels. I screwed the tire selection up. It had very dry 7.75-15 bias-ply redlines on it when I got it years ago. I was in a hurry to drive and enjoy it, but the only available 14 inch tire was Cooper 225-14's. I never cared for the look after I went that route. But it drove nice... and hooked up better.

Beer and donuts- aye? Yeah, you Canucks train them well! Of the 4 remaining (of the original 11) remaining that I know of, this is the only one that gets "properly" driven.

I never really thought about the metallic sound- but good point! They are all plastic now. I almost left that clip out during editing...but damn, that whoppin' air cleaner is such a big deal I left it in. Glad I did, Thanks for the comment!

The correct ignition curve and properly adjusted accelerator pumps sure make it fun to mash the throttle at 25MPH! Yeehaw!

I will be teaching my grandkids and showing them all of these videos on how important it is that we learn our car and engineering history.
