To the fallen! 🐠 If you see any edgy comments I don’t blame you if you are still angry. I was young and stupid and would delete them all if I could.

ADFs will chill at the surface to basically laze without having to go up for air. Sometimes they’ll just leave their heads poked out for maximum chill. If you can put a nice resting spot at the top for it to sit in. She loves chilling in the tree but I guess it must be fun to float around too!
Your plants are dying due to lack of nutrients, with a simple gravel substrate they wont have anything to suck out, they can only rely in the nutrients in your water column. If you really like your gravel and dont want aquasoil or capped dirt, then you can try adding nutrients to your water column. They can be pricy and be careful when addint to your water, as too much of these nutrients can be toxic to your fish and/ ir make your plants rely on them too much!
@@anditsdunn6252 I actually did forget to put the nutrient tab inside of this one.. I also did just deal with Cyanobacteria which could also have something to do with it.. but I do have a bit of spare aqua soil which I can dig into each of the plants area!
Is this betta a male? They tend to get bored as they get older. Sadly my betta has also slowed down and hasnt been nearly as active unless ue knows its feeding time. If you want to try and fix that you can either give him a little lady to breed with or give him more plants!! Tannins in your water will also help keep your fish healthy and feeling safe
@@anditsdunn6252 hah I’ve been trying to get any type of tannins lately In all forms in all my tanks so I’m workin on that for sure! I do worry it could be age but I’ve only had the guy for half a year! But it is true that he’s been sooo less active lately.. instead of swimming around he seems to just like to shuffle around the bottom of the tank or on the plants. Hell swim around from time to time though. I have been trying to get into betta breeding but first I’m gonna try with my super fancy guppies to experiment with the market on them. Thank you!
If you want your plants to grow more lushly, try a dirted capped substrate! It not only sustains plentiful nutrients for your plants, it also breaks down your tanks waste and turns it into nutrients! Your Anacharis will take off. Father fish and other youtubers like fishtory go into more detail on the sciences and how to setup these aquariums. Cool looking tanks! And good luck in your fishy journey
It will never feel like these first fish again.
Medication is already working on her lil wound. I’m assuming it’s because of a burn that could have appeared when I cleaned out the sponges in the filter. I’ve learned from some folk on Reddit that it’s an unknown fact that those sponges and cartridges contain almost all your benificual bacteria and you should not listen to the instructions to change them out or to clean them. The poop will be beneficial to the plants and cycle itself. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t vac your gravel/sand for poop. If the poop doesn’t dissolve away from the cycle then give it a very light rinse.
I kid you not that cup thing I used for brine shrimp is marketed to be used for betta fish. Terrible people.
Honestly I wanted to get less gups but they gave us five more and I just couldn’t pass it up since these are usually 6$ to 12$ so no more getting any other tank mates!
I'm really sorry about your poor fishes:( How are they doing at the moment? P.s. pls make sure your heater is always fully submerged before turning it on, it can make tanks explode or start fires. I'd place it at an angle so that everything is underneath water including the top of it, maybe a few inches under for safety. I avoid letting the end of it touch anything because it gets HOOOT although it's good because you have a cover a the end. Just thought to let you know, same goes for any filter, place them at an angle if the tank is too shallow. P.s.s. thoroughly impressed by your massive filter and heater in a tiny tank, I always always ALWAYS have the opposite problem 😭😭
Btw I learnt this after years, I am so lucky that nothing bad ever happened. I only recently placed all of my cables into a plastic tub instead of letting them electricute me on the ground if nathans tank magically explodes 😂 Oh man... Fish keeping is dangerous. Especially when you have a flowerhorn that doesn't stop showing off his teeth. I don't think UA-cam would even let me post clips of his bites, but if you ever want a flowerhorn, that's a pretty cool aspect of it. Animals are awesome:)
@@AlphonzohTheDove aye this was a long time ago. I’ve since learned about heaters and everything I need to know. This was when my fellas were starting to get parasites and I made the quarantine tank. Kissy and Terra passed during the process but still I got it out of the rest.
@@DeRanter thanks for letting me know, my apologies I did realise the video was this old, I just watched a few randomly on your channel:) Thought to let you know just incase, I am actually very amazed at how we aquarists just forget that our hobby is quite literally decorating a glass box with water and electricity, rocks and ANIMALS 😭 Some of my favourite youtubers do dumb stuff then realise it years later, haha I remember an old video of the king of DIY explaining that he left his heater on and I think the tank was half empty or something, but basically it was HUGE and be flooded his entire basement then realising he had some exposed electrical stuff in the puddle My guy had decades of experience I am honestly terrified Oh also, I recently adopted a 6dt tank that didn't have any foam or cushioning underneath so the original owner got 800L of water flooding his office when it cracked the whole way through. I'm planning on giving it a new life
@AlphonzohTheDove if it’s cracked I wouldn’t use it.
Glad that I am not the only one that displays verbal aggression to a new fish infiltrating my territory 😤
For context: I love my backyards docks water. It’s brackish and has a lot of fun fish and critters like micro crabs, shrimp, and a variety of really cute fish. All brackish. There’s also pieces of driftwood. I would love researching the fish and crabs and perhaps get a tank one day. These narrows are really fun…
I have an orange and blue one too, also what country do you live in

She was so curious..
Excuse the shitty breathing if you can. My lungs have been having a strange issue. I also may start actually vlogging and creating videos with me actually in it performing water changes and showing how I do maintenance. I’m hoping to sell some gups as well.
I never got guppies to breed, the only fry I got were 4 platy fry, 1 of them died
It happens. Guppies are the easiest
Man I was horrid back then! The amount of dehydration I let it get to 😢
Hey UA-cam. Quit making it so I have to set comments on manually for every damn video please. I would actually like general advice. Is this because most creators are weak to criticism? That’s stupid.
He was a lil small lad back then.. and how many more plants I had! Gotta get a high light!
Wholesome af
Just wait till you watch him eat the worms! He’s a hungry bugger!
🙌🙌🙌
And yes the water level was real low in the video and YES I filled it up a little. Don’t want to much as I don’t have a lid for this tank. I tested the waters in this tank. Nitrates are down spiking. Gonna get a small but really fancy looking guppy. Naming him bup!
UPDATE! *These are camalanus worms.* The treatment I’m going to tell you is super effective! I was able to save these fish! If you ever find these in your fish take out the affected fish and put them in an empty quarantine tank. Medicate the water with EXPEL-P!!!! This medicine worked really well! I put it in the tank and also mixed it with some pellets. Now read this when you use it. *PICK UP THE WORMS THAT FALL OUT!!!!* if you do not they will wake up and breed and reinfect your fish!! I know that this sounds difficult but with an empty quarantine tank it will be easy! Right after you add it you can wait an hour or two and pick them up and wait a few days using more treatment. With this the fish were absolutely saved! *WHEN YOU USE THE QUARANTINE TANK PUT NO DECOR OR PLANTS OR SUBSTRATE!! it will be super effective and make the worms easy to pick up.*
