This is a great and extremely helpful video. Originally I scheduled an appt with my local dealerships service dept. And then decided to search online just in case. Found this DIY vid. And just mad Thank you to the creator. I’ve got a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk and the driver side headlamp went out on me. Grabbed some tools and went to work. (Used thin disposable powderless rubber gloves to handle and install the new lights.). Anything thicker just impossible to maneuver when handling the lights. Also you may need to go without gloves at all to remove the round plastic cap cover plate for the light housing in order to get a good handle on it. The gasket was short work, three screws with washers. Just make sure to have a socket wrench for removal with the use of an extender really helped. Also, the one thing the video confused me, was the old lightbulb housing on the lightbulb itself. At first I thought this was the tab he referred to, has a little triangle tab. Was not the tab he meant. The light socket fitting blended so well with the lightbulb housing I spent 30minutes trying to separate that 😂. Yes I’m suffering from Noob fatigue. Once I figured out that was a part of the housing of the old bulb and that there are these tabs on either side of the light socket wired fitting I was able to slowly separate the two as designed. Phew. Then the install was pretty straight forward as it was a reverse of what I did before. But one last caveat. The new lightbulb as long as it’s properly rated for your particular car, will fit. But ya need to match up the plastic tabs on the plastic housing of the new bulb to the metal collar of the light housing of the car in order to properly seat it. Only then you turn the bulb clockwise so the plastic tabs slide into that metal collar seating it. When I first attempted I thought I had it. But was way off again as the plastic tabs were not properly fitted and or aligned and half the plastic tabs were seated outside the metal collar. They must fit perfectly in the collar then twist haha. Then it’s was gravy from there. I still have the other light to replace having learned all that from only doing the one. Anyways hope that helps someone else trying this for the first time. Etc.
My dash didn't tell me my light was out. Thank you for the video. Hopefully I can change mine as easily.
Omg very helpful video!! Right to the point, how it should be! My dad usually does it for me but had to do it myself this time. 🎉 thank you dude!! My jeeps back in night action lol
Thank you so much for your video. I’m a single woman and this video helped me replace my own headlight!! Thank you again!!!
Greatly appreciate this! Thank you.
Good job brother thx for this.
Changed out both. Easy procedure. Surprised I finished so fast.

Thanks so much ! Great directions , quick and easy.....I appreciate your help...stay safe !
Great video and I didn't have to listen to a 5 min rant by some maniac waving his hands around saying you should have bought a Toyota their headlight bulbs last 2 MILLION MILES.
Thank you. Straight to the point. You saved me a good $300.
Thank you! Super helpful Brother
Super helpful. Thanks bud.
Thank you
This helped. Thank you!
Perfect
Thank you for the straightforward instructions. I thought there surely must be a way to access the headlights without removing the battery & air filter housing unit. And you've shown us. Just a wild thought, but possibly Jeep WANTS its drivers to be unable to do even the simplest maintenance & repairs ourselves. 😵
My driver side light is out also.
Has anyone found a lowbean and foglight bulb only to match the daytime lights at the top of the car?
Thanks for this.
Thank you! Nice quick video without any filler. Straight and yo the point.
I just used the video and I got to say it was spot on. Thanks for help!!
Was an easy to follow instructions and got my new LED lights hooked up in about 45 minutes for both sides ..and they work great ...thanks
Thank you sir. Got this done pretty quickly and easily thanks to this video. Just a tip for anyone that tackles this. Make sure the tabs on the light bulb assembly are centered correctly. I had a little trouble with them but they snapped in place ok after you get them centered.
Great video. Thank you
Thank you so much for this! Saved me!
Glad it helped!
So it works on both sides! Great! You saved me 200 dollars!
Glad I could help!
That is how every DIY video should flow. Great job.
Also, timing is just about right for MY Cherokee (2017) relative to your year. I’m going to replace both at the same time.
I appreciate that!
Thank you, very straight forward. Much appreciated.
My lights keep turning off and I keep getting a notification saying that my low beams are out even though I followed your instructions.
This was so helpful and gave exactly the information I needed. I know nothing about cars and I was able to change my low beam light on my 2016 Trailhawk in 5 minutes- only for the cost of the 9005 bulb ($23 incl tax!). I'd never have figured out how to disassemble the gasket under the wheel well on my own. The 8mm socket was perfect. You even saved me the time of experimenting with that. Thank you SO MUCH!
Great to hear!
Thanks, Stitch! Just what we needed.
Glad it was helpful!
Excelente! Muchas gracias!
Just fixed the passenger low beam light on my 2016 Jeep Cherokee North. It couldn’t have been any easier thanks to your video. Thanks man!
Glad it helped
Thank you so much
Hi! What about the day running lights? Thank you
I’m doing this myself tomorrow on Mother’s Day
Does this the same as 2014
From what I have seen the process should be very similar. However, it looks like the 2014 has two panels inside the wheel liner. You have to open the top panel to access the bulb.
Your video is accurate and easy to view. I replaced my daughter's 2016 Cherokee headlight #9005, today. I did turn the wheel/ tire in as far as is goes, like you suggested, I'm 64 and have always worked on vehicles, but it also helps to see how something is removed/replaced before you start, I give you 👍👍
Awesome video. I did exactly as you said and replaced my headlight. The dealer wanted 120 to do it (including the bulb). I’m a 60 year old female with 0 experience in doing anything to my cars. Thank you thank you
Thank you so much!
