A PVC pipe inside a steel encasement pipe was crushed when the concrete in the annular space between the encasement and the PVC pipe caused the schedule 200 PVC pipe to collapse. This could have been through weight or heat created during the concrete curing process.
When the PVC pipe collapsed it caused the 1/4" steel hanger to deform which inhibited the ability of the client to add a pipe liner once the PVC section was removed.
We used our 4HP hydraulic motor to grind away the steel hanger and smooth the edges so that a liner could be installed once the damaged length of pipe was cleared.
