I still do not comprehend how askin le vaar's ability works. I understand how he lowering the lethal dose and so on works. But my question is : does that mean he cannot be killed? When oetsu attacked him, normally that would have been an instant delay preventing him from using his powers. But he didn't die . As a matter of fact, he got stabbed then throat cut. So how didn't he die? Is there even a way to kill him then if killing him isn't an option

It was important part of the war. If not this emotional attack Yammamoto probably would remain rational, kept fight in shikai and one-shotted most of the quincy without actually fighting Yhwach. With Urahara's pills he would have decimated their entire army with ease. Almighty Yhwach alone would remain and he can't do a shit against Gotei and RG all by himself. Ichibei was caught off guard by almighty (he thought he sealed that shit). He would easily take another SK's part and defeat Yhwach again by becoming invulnerable to the almighty (like mimihigi).
