We are not as familiar with the US system however it appears the EIN is related to employees and not a name of a business. The usually wording for a trade name is also DBA or o/a or carrying on business as. We hope this is helpful to you.

The corporation has to be charitable for you to be able to provide tax receipts however that doesn't stop people from giving donations to not for profit, there just isn't a tax receipt

Hello Tariq, the advertising has to be the same as the business name. If you are incorporated as example ABC Inc. you should advertise ABC Inc. if you add a tradename under the corporation as ABC, you can advertise the business name without the legal ending inc as you have legally registered the name without the legal ending as well.

The BIN number is attached to a registered business in Ontario, although confusing the BN number is your tax number that you should have received when you incorporated your federal incorporation and its the BN number you should be using. Hi Svitlana, if you are setting up a trade name under your corporation, the trade name falls under the corporation (umbrella) and therefore the corporate tax, hst, payroll etc. You may not have enough money from the primary corporation sales to garnish any HST with the operation itself but if the trade name will earn enough to register the HST, since its part of the corporation, the HST will be registered for the corporation. I would find an American search company that can assist you. We do offer corporate searches but not the articles of incorporation from US jurisdictions.

The renewal is only required every 5 years you have the business. When you don't renew, you risk substantial fines for operating without a licence. If you wish for us to renew your business, we would complete the renewal and remind you in five years when it is due again. The trade names do not have name protection so someone whether they see an existing trade name by searching a NUANS can still proceed to register the exact same name. If name protection is important, it is best to either incorporate that business name or complete a trademark. Hi, if you have a registered business, yes you need to renew every 5 years. If you have missed this, we can register as new. If you have an incorporated business, you never have to renew. The HST number for a corporation would be connected to that corporation directly, and to any tradenames registered under it. If you have an existing HST number for your corporation and are adding a new tradename registration under the corporation, your HST number would also be used for this new tradename.

Hi Ryan, I am not sure how to answer this one. If the corporation is not yet registered, it may not be in the best interest of the community to try and get funding for the incorporation itself.
